So, in conclusion; if you want the fastest, go with a base auto... if you want the ugliest, go with the Nismo :stirthepot:

in the world of sports cars, there are the base 370z and then there are the 370z nismo :) |

i forgot which comedians said this on tv but he said if he had a nice car like a ferrari, he would drive 5 miles slower than the posted speed limits, to make sure people could see him driving it :) |
note to self.... NISMO = Ferrari.

drivers in fast cars got nothing to prove but drivers in slower cars do. |

usually, I would only drive faster when I see a big truck because i fear it would send rock peeples my way :) when there is no other car the road, i would drive the posted speed limits but when there are other cars i would drive with the flow of traffic. i have put 1200 miles on this car to date but I have never driven in the fast (left) lane. usually people would drive 20 mph above the speed limit in that lane. |

i almost got the **British Chicane Yellow 370z **instead of the 370z Nismo. Kinda wished i did! with all these controversies:-( **It is a limited edition of 370Z GT Pack coupe for British market, inspired by the European GT4 race car. It includes Ultimate Yellow body, 19-inch RAYS forged alloy wheels, black leather and suede interior upholstery, integrated satellite navigation system, illuminated entry plates, special mats and a BOSE audio with 8 speakers and a 6-CD autochanger.** |
I wanted a fully loaded pearl white manual. Finding a fully loaded manual was impossible for me and I didnt want the base so the nismo appealed to me. Sitting side by side I thought the nismo looked good enough to compensate for the lack of leather/touring. Honestly the leather in the touring seemed kinda cheap to me anyways.

he shoots! he scores! :excited:

nismo is no less luxurious than a base. no one in a base should be ******** on the nismo for wasting money on a different trim. Yea they could have gotten more performance if they went with BASE+mods but maybe they didn't want to. For the same money its touring/sport or nismo. thats where the decision of where to put the money is. either way, whoever spends close to 40K on their Z was willing to spend that for either a body kit, diff suspension, etc OR leather/sport package etc.

Where is the thread making fun of Touring/Sport/Nav guys for not having the best leather seats or most intuitive Nav system? :stirthepot: Nah, no Nismo vs non-Nismo hate should be present. Like you said, the Value of 37-40k is either in your heated leather seats, or nismo-etched cloth seats. To each their own! |
I'm more worried about the other competition such as the Camaros, Challengers, and Mustangs than family fighting.

I've driven the 370z and thought it was pretty nice but felt like the S2000 was more enjoyble to drive
Personally, I would chose the 370z with sport pack vice the NISMO but if I had the funds I would get a 10' Porsche Cayman S in a heart beat. The 2010 Porsche Cayman S is faster than both (straight line /track, it doesn't) Porsche Cayman S vs. 370z Nissan 370Z vs Porsche Cayman S(facelift) PDK - FastestLaps.com Porsche Cayman S vs. 370z Nismo Porsche Cayman S(facelift) PDK vs Nissan Nismo 370Z - FastestLaps.com This new Cayman S is more comparable to the E92 M3; it’s in a different league al together. The Z is good for the money though :) |

that's also pretty amazing all the 370's that guy had on the road next to him. in the 8 months i've owned mine, i've only seen 2 on the street near me - and they were both chicks. |

For the money, the Z wins hands down. BTW, I would hope you would be taking your car to a track and not driving fast on the street........ I was looking at the Exige S (would would hand it to the Cayman S), but when it comes down to it, the almighty dollar made my decision. Even if the Cayman S is faster, I am SO much more happy with the Z as is my wife and two girls. I can drive it on the street like a dinner plate as opposed to a piece of fine china that has been handed down through the generations. And, I just have to add this, I have seen more Caymans than Z's lately. Every time I see one, I think "that car used to look really cool; now it just looks girly....." |
