For example, sometimes the car will be really jumpy when I'm lightly accelerating in the parking lot or accelerating from a stoplight. In the other hand, the transmission feels like it completely disengages when I let off the gas around 20-30mph'ish.

Also, there was an instance where I floored the gas to switch lane and the transmission just totally didn't engage. The car barely accelerated and the tachometer hit 9k+. Is this just a misshift or something or I should look into it?
and your car still drives???

I know this is a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway. Are you sure you didn't blip the stick up to shift gears while not in manual mode? IE over rev the motor in nuetral. I did it once, i didn't over rev but it was a shock. As for the 1-2 shift mine is ROCK SOLID 100% of the time, if yours isn't get it checked. The 3-2 shift in manual mode can be clunky and unpredictable but only if you are downshifting at VERY low revs. I attribute this to a lack of hydraulic pressure due to the low revs.

Its very strange that you hit 9K RPM with the auto transmission. Its not like on a manual transmission where if you misshift, lets say from 3rd to 2nd instead of 3rd to 4th going fast that you can overrev the engine that far. If your car really hit 9K RPM, you could have floated the valves on the car and damaged the engine. Does the engine sound fine?

Wow I just finished reading al the pages of this thread and I must say... You guys are spoiled lol I am coming from an 07 s2000 and we had 0 heated features, road noise is a B1TCH (try listening to the radio on a rainy day lol), and we didnt have tilt or telescoping steering wheel or nav or anything of the sort.

The s2000 was a 30K+ car too. I have the next PW touring fully loaded that is coming to the states with my name on it. I have about a week till it gets here and I have driven both the base and the touring with and without sport packages and I must say I am impressed enough to trade in my S2k for one. The Glare people talk about on the gauges is not bad at all either. I think the baby's need to go suck their thumbs cause it could be "a true sports car" and come base model like the s2k and no options!

All in all this is a great car dispit a few little gripes here and there with peoples personal preferences.

I've had the car for a few weeks now and Bullit is correct. The glare one the left set of gauges isn't that bad. I think I noticed it once when the sun just happened to be on that side of the car as I was driving. I do look to check the temperature once in a while, but unless your the type to just stare at your fuel gauge and water temp, it isn't a big issue. Keep your eyes on the road please.

I don't recklessly floor the car. It was honestly the third time I ever did it in which I was put in a similar situation.

i've been driving the new 370z for about 1 week now. and the blind spots are killing me. it's kind of dangerous when trying to make a left lane change on the highway because if you can not see what's really on your left. you must move yourself forward to see it.

right lane changes are also a bit tough but at least you can see a lot more than on the left side.

one other thing - there is a bit of noise while driving it, but the engine but from inside the interior.

Since the 370Z is so new there are no versions of the MultiVex available, but you can have a custom order done. If enough of us write MultiVex maybe we can get them to carry them as a stocking item for the 370Z?

I've ordered the factory cargo mat to help absorb some of the high frequencies; we'll see if the idea works.

With all the road noise complaints from all the articles I have read so far...Is it really that terrible? I havent test drove yet cuz I am in Jersey and it is a disaster out here lately....I am curious to know how bad it really is? and can it be fixed or significantly reduced with a set of new tires?

I haven't even really noticed it as being abnormal. Maybe I am hard of hearing, but it road noise is not an issue on my end.

The road noise can be a little bothersome, but nothing that cant be fixed. The thing I hate is the wheelwells have some sort of plastic lining, so when little rocks or pebbles get picked up from the tires, you can really hear it.
The best solution is to treat the inside of the wheelwells. This will help with that and the tire/road noise. I plan on doing this soon, I'll post up more later.
Here is where you can get the stuff: Sound Deadening Materials for Noise Reduction from Second Skin

Anyone hear a hi-pitched sound coming from inside the cabin? This sounds like an electrical noise, not mechanical. It is constant, similar to the ringing in your ears after a rock concert. It might be coming from the HID lights, but then, I think I've still noticed it during the day.
