Yeah... I sort of wonder how long Modshack will be here until he moves on to another car. :icon18:

He should just buy a car lot and have it stocked with different cars and drive them as he pleases.

^WTH? Did you buy another one modshack? I hope you don't go away soon, your DIY's and input are always very helpful.

LOL...Thanks! Actually, that's Zpirates car. We started puting on stainless brake lines on saturday and boogered a short brake hardline off the rear caliper due to the Gorilla assembly torques used by Nissan. Only an $8 part, but needless to say his car got stranded on my lift. He'll be doing a DIY on this with what we learned. Mine should be a piece of cake this weekend after all that! I did buy another car though...2003 Golf GTI 20th anniversary model..11K miles on it...couldn't resist! One can never have too many Blue cars....:-)

to the OP- you got to suck REAL BAD inorder to have to replace the clutch in a few thousand miles.... the clutch can take quite a beating in general.

Does anyone have a price for clutch replacement? I do my own work so I save on labor; thus I am curious.

I was forced to learn due to:

1. My allowance per day when I was in college was $1.00 per day. This allowance lasted for 3 years.
2. The dealer for my other car wanted about $1,000 for semi-major tune up. $2,000 per year was way too much

:). My point is if you could.... Learn and save throughout your life

 on the MkIV. I cut my teeth in old 16V GTI's, so I had a pompus attitude towards MkIV's for awhile, until I drove a 20th. Awesome cars.

My old RSX-S Turboed with 35k miles and no clutch issues. Some folks should just go auto.

no i meant a few thousand miles earlier than if you hadn't learned on the car.

With all of the above sentiments in mind and how much of a beating the clutch can take... how many of you guys would actually be willing to teach someone to drive stick on your Z?
