I can't believe they trash it so much for road noise. Really?
I like how they admit how silly this is and yet continue to whine about it. |

I like my 370Z, PERIOD!!!!!!!!

I don't even own a 370z and I like it. Road noise, you gotta be kidding. These "experts" will be really whining when the mfg improves this car like they did when the introduced the 280zx.

The 8th generation Civic has been around since 2006 and they JUST got engine management less than a year ago. At this rate, if you want something with a huge aftermarket following, go buy a Prius/Insight. Those seem to be the rage these days. :ugh2: |
Road noise? If they want to compare road noise, they are welcome to go for a spin in my 1972 Corvette - the Z is whisper quiet compared to it. And I have driven my Corvette from SoCal up to the Bay Area and back (approx. 8 hour trip each way) and didn't suffer any lasting effects from that.
The Z is perfectly fine in the road noise/NVH department, thank you very much! |
all sports cars will be somewhat noisy due to skinny tires, stiff suspension and chassis, minimal sound insulation, etc..........
is it that the z is unusually noisy for a sports car or is it that most editors are used to lumbering luxury suv and sedans and are not used to the noise? i mean cars like a corvette, viper, f430, s2000, etc are they less noisy than the z? |
My Z is quieter than my ex's G35 coupe.
Rocks being thrown in the rear wells are a different story, but overall the Z is the winner. |
Aha, it's like with the woman you love...You KNOW she has defects, since she's human, but you love her anyway, huh? Same with our Zs. Still in love with her after all these years!

I love driving the Z for the engine sound and aggressive punch at high revs. EDMUNDS seems to review every type of car like they are supposed to be family sedans or something. The only time they ever have any accurate reviews is when they drive muscle cars. So obviously not only are they unskilled in driving various types of cars. They only seem to be able to get accurate times from mustang and camaro ONLY! Has corporate sponsorship tainted all reviews? Or is edmunds just that dumb?
I know muscle car v8's tend to give more steady times. No skill is needed to make them go fast. Just slam on the gas. 4 bangers n 6's need a little more trickery on the stick or paddles to really make em fly. Edmunds can't master this skill for nothing. I remember there gen coupe V6 review they got 0-60 in 6.4sec and 14.7 1/4 while in the same month MT gave it 5.5 and CD gave it 5.7 and both hit 14.0-14.2 range. At least with the Z the ratio wasn't as drastic. But edmunds always has some kind of crazy excuse for them not having comparable times to other publications. One thing I have come to grips with though. Is corporate sponsorship outright controls reviews. MT, loves NISSAN & HYUNDAI. C&D loves GM &BMW. Automobile magazine doesn't respect anything that's costs over $70k I turned to a new source for my car reviews. The only magazine that has been 100% consistant to my test drives. (Though I still read the others to, I take what they write with a grain of salt) I read popular mechanics. A good group of guys there and they are car lovers. U get some str8 news and real criticisms without the in between comliment insult games that the major mags play. I don't dismiss issues in major mags though. If they say the Z has a brake issue. I will say more than likely. There is some kind of issue. But it doesn't mean now the car is garbage. I myself don't like to buy 1st year newly engineered models till they have been proven. Something always goes wrong. With hyundai it was too many computer programs interchanging and causing ECU problems., infiniti had the battery and bubbling issues bmw always has something wrong and it seems the Z might have a brake issue on the sport package. But I know for sure, soon enough these issues will be moot. Sh1t happens. The Z is still one of the greatest sub 50k cars out there |
