Does it harm a car, after you break it in. To drive it at high rpm?

if that was at 999 miles yes. if at 1001 miles absolutely not. 1000 is kinda gray..

but then someone said 1199 was the break-in's last mile...

Pretty sure that's what the manual says.

you do realise that you will be putting extra stress on components, don't you?
Do you want your car to last? Then don't drive at high rpms often, btw...you sound like a moron, too many stupid questions are asked by people on this forum. i mean c'mon common sense would answer that OP question wouldn't it?

I say just go to redline now and bang limiter all day long. You're not allowed to use even numbered gears during break in.

frost 02-23-2010 09:08 PM

Don't use the clutch during break in. It will help the parts mesh together better.

They say its built for it, but everytime i hit like 5k in my other Z i always thought i should shift.... =[
Im just a terrible driver.

<point though....
Can i drive and always shift at 6/7k rpm? (when im having fun, not 24/7, or just driving consistenly at this RPM, just speeding up quick.)
