I lost the key to my wheel locks about two months ago. All I did was I went to my neighbor and he has a commercially available kit (bell-shaped v
brass sockets) that you just pound over the locks and then just use your wrench.

A soft metal regular socket barely larger than the lock would work the same way.

I figure that, with locks, it slows down the thieves by no more than 30 seconds.

yea I learned wheel locks were useless when i dropped my car off for rear tires ( my old car ) got home and realized I had the lock in my room.. called the place and they told me, oh thats no problem, guys forget them all the time. And they did not damage my wheel lock either :confused:

Unfortunately, gun laws in New York are not as relaxed in Texas. New York and California have some tough gun control laws. That used to be my mentality too, but if they don't have a gun pointed at you, you're not allowed to shoot. ::siggh:: :shakes head:

Yea, we are WAY too lax with our laws. If a guy is on your property stealing stuff, he is probably not the nicest of folk. If I were in a situation of having to confront that person in the act, I think I would rather bust a cap in him rather than chance getting myslef shot/cut/stabbed for attempting to give him a "stern talking to", lol.

Umm its new york buddy, not the south or west. You go outside and shoot someone breaking into your car its considered 2nd degree murder or 1st degree manslaughter depending on what a jury says. Obviously, you are spoiled by loose gun laws and the castle doctrine. I don't live in new york anymore and I'm glad. Living in new york you are just a walking target. The laws don't allow for you to protect your property and you can only defend your life if you have made every effort to retreat and you must meet with equal force. In other words, don't bring your gun to a knife fight. Even if the aggressor was the knife weilder. Like I said, new york sucks. It belongs to the criminals.
