I've had the same vanity plates since 1988. It started on a 1988 Porsche 944, to a 1994 Vette in 1994, to a 1997 Pathfinder in 1997, to a 1998 M3 in 1998 and currently on a 2009 370Z. And no, above plates are not mine, I have a different one.

wilsonp 09-04-2010 03:31 AM

I really don't like the plates that just repeat the cars name, etc. It already has that on the back, plus if they don't know... :D

Like someone else said, when you've got the only one in the city, the plate doesn't really make much difference.

USAFstevo 09-04-2010 09:48 PM

mine is Z 2 1GO

I was gonna do something funny, but decided to keep it simple so people at work don't think I'm an a$s.

LOL, is that based off "Kick-***" or another reason?

Imperial 09-14-2010 03:55 AM

What do you guys think of "NSM 370Z"?

I just don't see the point in paying for a custom plate that says what your emblems already say.

It's like saying, what's the point of having emblems, you know what car you have.

I agree with Jesse. People know what car you got, get a plate that is unique to your personality.

If you already got your plate, post a picture of it in this thread:

I agree. Its all preference, many different of cars also stamp the model all over the car. Nismo for example stamps it not only on the back of the vehicle, but on the car seats, dash, plaque, etc. Its not because they think you will forget what kind of car you are in, but more of a friendly reminder of what you work hard for IMO.

daimon1313 09-16-2010 12:59 PM

Agreed on repeating the type of car on the plate, but hey...everyone has their own tastes.

Personally, I think that "GTRJR" is freaking awesome.

ResQguy 10-11-2010 11:00 PM

That was from the Stillen event, but I've been to nearly every event this year. Have you been to our meet in Cerritos?

Unfortunately I haven't been able to make a meet. My work schedule is crazy. I almost made it a couple of weeks ago, but I got home too late. Hopefully I can get to one soon. I live in Orange County now, but I lived in South Bay for a few years. I'm pretty sure I've seen you on PCH in the Hermosa/Redondo area.

Yeah I'm always on PCH I wouldn't be surprised if you saw me. :icon17:

Depends on the state your in. Texas has a private company handle it. Other states you have to go through the DMV and fill out some crazy forms. Prices vary too.
