$30,813 good for Base Model 370z?

I got this price for a base model black 370z 7AT. Went in to check it out today. It's SO sexy. Couldn't test drive because of the bad weather so I'll be back for that.

The only option it already comes with are splash guards. I thought cloth seats would be a bitch, but the cloth on the 370 feels incredible.

So, you guys think that price is a good one?

nah its the 7 speed automatic

mattkim85 01-19-2009 05:57 PM

go for it!
IMHO by the looks of the demand the dealers are having
the pricing wont go down anytime soon.

capo190 01-19-2009 06:09 PM

also, aren't prices for cars with tax included?

like they don't give you a price and THEN tack on tax afterwards while your signing. I forgot to ask :(

I watched a guy enraged at a nissan dealer 2 months ago over that very issue. They took hours to settle on a price, then as he was signing, "oh btw, here are all the tt&l fees" and the buyer flipped the eff out.

zelerious 01-19-2009 06:20 PM

No they'll add tax after.

Tax is not included. It'll be another 2100 dollars in tax.

Yup, check out the link "dad" posted and calculate your cost. Oh btw, some dealers charge "document fee" :shakes head: which ranges from $199 - $399. Find out if they are going to add that as well.

nogoodname 01-19-2009 08:16 PM

over here there are so many fees.....not to mention tax on a tax...can you beleive that
A/C tax, tire tax, gas guzzler tax, licence tax, registration tax....federal tax, provincial tax

the dealer is mugging me without a weapon...lol

good luck with the purchase !!

18rgcelica73 01-19-2009 08:21 PM

I'm sorry if this sounds mean but, why do you want an automatic sports car? Like I said not trying to be mean at all just wondering.

nogoodname 01-19-2009 08:25 PM

^^ maybe he never drove a standard or he drives too much city driving and doesnt want to shift constantly in traffic or something.......not to mention that the majority of Z's built are auto...lol

18rgcelica73 01-19-2009 08:31 PM

Yeah but it is a driver's car so learn ha ha. To me it is a shame they put the at transmissions in the majority of them, well at least sold more of them with the at.

Exactly these reasons

I hate how people, and i'm not accusing anyone here of this, talk about how "manly" a stick is. Everyone tells me "oh your a pussy for getting an auto car". But the thing is, I really don't care. I want an auto transmission and I don't care what people think.

It's usually the people who drive shitty riced out Civics bragging about how powerful their VTEC is.

nogoodname 01-19-2009 08:32 PM

celica, only b/c autos are more popular...it would be really stupid to not put them in.....blocking out a huge chunk of customers

 Man those paddle shifter are very very nice. I had a chance to drive almost all bmw models (- M) with paddles and I loved it. I played with the 370Z paddle shifters and I was in instant love. Those d**n paddle shifters are going to divert many M6 owners to A7 this time.

Yea I agree what's the problem with an auto there's really no difference from what I see just that manual you shift your self and auto it does everything for you. Same here I am waiting 6 months then ordering one cause either that I order one from my city dealer of go all the way to Everett to get one.

G in ny 01-20-2009 03:01 AM

7AT FTL common man

3SeventyZ 01-20-2009 04:08 AM

Decent price, Id say go for it.

capo190 01-20-2009 10:33 AM

Last night I emailed four or five neighboring Nissan dealerships asking if they could beat this price.

One just called and left a voicemail telling me they would beat that price.

Me = :D

OMGWTFBBQ 01-20-2009 10:48 AM

That's what your supposed to do. Go get a price quote from one dealership and then head over to the next dealership and pit them against each other in a price war haha.

ltp,
who did you talk to over there at Sunnyvale Nissan? (Falore)
thanks

ltp 01-20-2009 11:21 AM

Who did you talk to over Falore?

Keioh,
I bought it through Ross Irmer and his general manager (forgot his name).
They were easy to deal with since I already have a quote from my credit union and they knew I was serious and ready to buy. They just had to match my price.

Good luck!

Not that I mean any offense to some of you, but why do some of you care what transmission other people get?

G in ny 01-20-2009 02:02 PM

just hate AT they shouldnt make AT on sports cars

It's safer, it keeps both hands on the wheel.

shumby 01-20-2009 03:06 PM

ya they are nice and faster then the haters are saying.

Since the numbers are so varied from review to review, I'll still waiting for someone to do a review with both transmissions side by side. Probably won't get one. :(

shumby 01-20-2009 03:39 PM

RCZ did one.

I'm talking about timed runs, etc. I want to know where the sacrifices are between the two. i.e 0-60 numbers, 0-100 numbers, 1/4 mile numbers, etc in the same environment with same driver. If they are very close, I'd be inclined to go with the AT so the wife can drive it.

But it isn't your car, so why bother caring? I'm glad they give us more options, and all these negative comments about an AT sports car are narrow-minded. I myself plan on testing both transmissions out, because bumper-to-bumper traffic in my 6MT isn't fun. I never considered the 350Z's 5AT, but the 370Z's 7AT looks pretty sweet.

But back on track, if you do not enjoy a 7AT, it's as simple as not getting one and not questioning other peoples' transmission choices. Everyone has their own preference, and there's nothing wrong with it as long is it isn't harming someone ;)

shumby 01-21-2009 02:04 PM

I can only comment on the G37 at vs mt. numbers have showen the AT is slightly faster in the 1/4 mile. but I have seen #'s that go both ways but never by more then a tenth. so ya the MT and AT are cloce in terms of time.

Lug 01-21-2009 03:16 PM

My other fear is that I'd buy the AT and right after they'd come out with a real dual clutch AT option. That would be my luck.
