Things like Flip down license plate holder , IR camera (for nite driving w/o lights) or Custom kill switches ( kill all lights while driving, etc) I'm not so sure about.... :wtf2: .. Are you running from the cop constantly?

Policing in state I live in has become like living in a Nazi state.

Can someone explain to me what's a custom kill switch? Can't you just turn the lights off by turning the headlight switch (and dimming the interior light to the lowest)?

A custom (made) kill switch would allow you to turn off findividual lights, or some combination by hitting one switch.

There are actually several uses the IR camera can perform.
If you are travelling at night on roads that are not lite it can help prevent hitting dear etc provided it's used in addition to headlights; and it can show debris in the road long before you reach it.

Just because you're paranoid DOESN'T mean they aren't watching you!!!

No criminal intent. Just starting a discussion.

Didn't read the whole post and this is just a somewhat related question:

(and maybe more for AK than others)

In my RSX, I ran a straight cord up from the dash around the windshield (behind the plastic molding) and over to the rear-view mirror where the connector popped out and I plugged it into my Escort 8500. The windshield caps are so pathetic that I used silicone inside the cups to "glue" it to the glass and keep it stuck there right above the mirror.

Looking to mount the Escort in my Z, of course and I see there is this matrix of black dots around that area of the windshield. GRRRRR !!!

So, teh question:

Where are you guys mounting your detectors? I can tell you right now, I don't fancy the look of an exposed cord on my dash at all.

You can buy a custom made detector bracket that attaches to the rear view mirror.

here's the link:

Why would you pick a job where most people dislike you (until they come save you from the bad guy of course)? That's kind of like saying that Firemen don't really care if they put out fires or Ambulance attendants don't really care about saving lives.

Would you pick a job where your life is at an elevated risk every day? Where people automatically hate you in general? Its likely one of the most thankless jobs around.

I hate getting caught for doing something I'm not suppose to be doing (eg speeding). I can think of every reason in the world why I shouldn't be getting a ticket but the fact is by signing for your licence you've agreed to obey the laws of the road or suffer the consequences.

Maybe you can explain what you mean by Police officers protecting citizens is BS....

I know a lot of guys that have become cops because they have nothing else going for them, couldn't make it through college, and it is a REALLLLYY easy job with good benefits.

I don't know about their job being "REAALLLYY easy". Unless, the guys you know are policing a small town or "nice" area.

But this thread has been entertaining though. It's a bit slow at work!
