money&mods

if you had $700 to spend on your 370z how would you spend it ?

m4a1mustang 02-02-2010 08:47 PM

I would save up a little more and buy a CBE.

Red370 02-02-2010 08:47 PM

well you cant get an exhaust for that price, so i'd say intakes/hfc's

PapoZalsa 02-02-2010 09:33 PM

I just remember I need to order my lowering springs & spacers. Maybe HFC later.

NYBladeZ 02-02-2010 09:46 PM

test pipes and sway bars

I'd put the $700 into a tire fund.

Knowing I had a head start on that, I'd start enjoying some more extreme driving on the stock setup. For instance, why not try some autox or high performance driving events on a non-competitive level to learn how to explore the limits of the car. Then, when you wear your tires out faster, it won't feel like such a hit.

Yeah, I know it's not sexy, but it's a pretty enjoyable bang for your limited bucks.

I like your sugestion. But if the OP is just looking for more power and/or sound, I'd say: HFC's. I got Berk HFC's and eventhough the sound is a tad too raspy for me, I still like the added volume and noticeable power gains.

^^ Whats CBE? I think the only mod I would do is the exhaust but thats ~$2000. I think its worth it though

tbonesteak 02-02-2010 11:51 PM

a cbe is not 2000. FI goes for much much cheaper than that.

the exhaust section has plenty of choices from 900 and up...invida is the least expensive from what I've seen and it sounds pretty good

It depends on what your priorities are.

Do you want yourself and other people to hear and feel your investment? Then get upgrade your exhaust as you get the extra HP and the sound.

Do you want a better handling car? Then upgrade your suspension.

300+ horses is plenty to begin with. Adding a few more helps. But I am a strong believer that the Z in stock form did not handle as it should. Thus I concentrated more on handling.

"Power is nothing if it can't be handled.".IMHO.

Personally I usually like more power but in the case of the Z suspension may be my first choice. Or an oil cooler but I havent had the car long enough to know exactly how big of an issue the oil temps are for my driving habbits.

hey strangler CBE = cat back exhaust HFC= high flow cats and CAI = cold air intake. I think there is a thread some where with this info but I may be thinking of a diffeent forum.

dang370z 02-03-2010 12:38 PM

He is probably looking at HSK's CBE cause I'm pretty sure thouse are around 2000

Hmmm.....
We share the same route. I am done with suspension for now and will be doing the oil cooler next.

To be truthful, my priorities are: 1) AUDTION UPGRADE 1st, 2) suspension 2nd, 3) Oil cooler, 4) exhaust......
