Would we even be able to use an oil pressure gauge? From my understanding, it isn't a default value our ECU measures and the pressure switch we have is more of an on/off to trigger the "low oil pressure" light vs. measuring the what the actual pressure is. I could be wrong though.

so, I returned it
As mentioned in my previous post, Nifty City sent me a .bin file which enabled Sport+. When I had made the post showing that rev match was working again, it was made following a quick test drive. The next morning, I started my car and he dash wouldn't boot up, and I had a hell of a time to get the car to shut off, it took several presses of the ignition button (30-50 times) to get the car to shut off. I pulled the negative terminal on the battery, restarted the car and waited 5-10 minutes and the dash finally booted up. All kinds of warning lights lit up on the dash. I pulled codes through m OBDII reader, and the ABS, high and low fuel level and the U1000 CAN bus error were persistent. Needless to say, I work remote that day since it took about 50 presses of the ignition button to get the car to shut off After a ton of troubleshooting, I learned that after the ECU initializes, is sends commands through the CAN bus for the ABS and fuel to get statuses, and it goes through the dash. I cleared the codes, re-installed the stock cluster and everything was perfect again. Just for grins, I hooked up the Nifty City dash for another attempt, but the same results, slow as hell boot up and the warning lights lit up the cluster. Again, I cleared the codes and reinstalled the EOM dash cluste. I let Nifty City know of the issue, all of the troubleshooting I had done (with plenty of pictures/videos showing results) and 'asked' them to make it their top priority to resolve it as the car is my daily driver. The response was to reinstall the Nifty City dash, re-flash it with the .bin they had sent and give it plenty of time to allow the new boot image to initialize. I told them that the new image had initialized, proofed by the pics of the dash showing that the Sport+ light was on. Further, I told them that I assumed that I had purchased a thoroughly tested product and I was growing tired of doing troubleshooting on their behalf. I'm an IT Project Manager that specializes in network infrastructure, and I avoid software development for a freaking reason. The response was something like 'I guess you don't want to participate in the beta program, so send it back'. WTF? Seriously? No! I. DO. NOT. WANT. TO. BE. BETA. If was to participate in their beta (it's alpha at best BTW), the dash would be free to cover the cost of my time. I'm 100% familiar with SDLC, and I'm getting paid to do it :| With all of that said, I'm glad to see my EOM cluster again Last edited by noslack327; 08-12-2025 at 06:22 PM. |
