Some do, some don't. My conversation was faster:
Me: Hi, I test drove one of your Zs a couple of months ago and want to buy the Brilliant Silver one you have on your lot. I'll give you $34,900 for it (sport, touring, splash guards, f+r mats, VIN etch). Sales Manager: I can't sell it to you for that price. Me: OK, no problem. Take care. <click> <10 seconds go by, my phone rings> Sales Manager: <audible sigh=""> <audible sigh> OK, I'll sell it to you. Me: Great! I'll be down in one hour with a check. <click> :driving:</click></audible></click> |

Don't get me wrong... bartering (or dickering) about price should be encouraged. But to cut-off a guy without "some" second or even third chances, would be like ... (?) I guess it's a two-way street.... and one shouldn't be too quick to throw off a salesman. Even if that person is obviously going too high. Give them another chance or two.... they'll probably move. |
bottom line is he lost a sale
