Paintless Dent Removal Price

Hi,

I recently got a quote to remove a small dent the size of a coin on the passenger side door of my Z. There was no paint damage so the dent just needed to pop back out. The guy quoted me 2K AUD. Does that sound normal? My initial thoughts are that it's way too high for such a small dent.

No - I had PDR done on an area on my rear fender which is a pretty difficult spot to fix. Cost me $450. Keep shopping.

+1

I had a fairly large area on my front fender done for about $450 as well a few years back.

I've been to Australia. Everything is through the roof expensive. Maybe that is a normal price there.

You can do it yourself with a paintless dent puller kit. I got one from Harbor Freight for around $20.00. Used it to pull dents out of motorcycle gas tanks.

Bought one of these puller kits, not the rods. Did a number of small dings on the wife's GTI and my M2. Works pretty good. Some of them, you don't notice a thing. On 2 of them, the dent is totally gone, as you can't see it or feel it. However, due to the paint being pushed in on the dent, you can notice a small difference, like a tiny swirl or wave in the finish of the paint after it was pulled. Much better than looking at the ding though. Just be aware, I've read that it's possible to remove some paint with this method.

Regarding OP's question about price, I had a mobile guy that would charge me $150 1st dent, $100 for 2nd and on, if it's on the same visit. So to me, your quoted price sounds excessive.

Thanks for the responses. Thought it sounded way too high. Will keep shopping for a decent price.
