my cars acting weird

so today im driving and out of no where the car just felt like i hit the brakes hard but i didnt. This was about an hour ago and I drove for 3-4 miles and it keeps on doing it. its usually in 1st or 2nd gear when it happens. its not the transmission or the clutch i think it might have something to do with the fuel pump am i wrong? By the way the check engine light came up right before it happened for the first time. Im off work tomorrow so ill be able to take it to the dealership but if its the fuel pump it should be covered under warranty right? and how long would the whole thing take because i have work on sunday and i really dont wanna take a rental. any idea what it can be?

will they give me a rental if they cant finish on time?

that depends on the dealer, explain your situation, that it's your only transportation, and they may provide you with a bucket to get around in, and if not the rentals are pretty cheap due to the type of cars they give out...

Why would it matter if it's lease or not? Does your contract say that you get a lease for services?

Trips 01-23-2010 04:46 AM

It's nothing. You can't do anything about it, if was an older car yes but a new car under warranty... Don't sweat the small stuff.........get some sleep.

Your right! Living in a perfect world, but we don't. The dealer will find the fault and diagnose what happen and hopefully fix it.

Did not mean to offense you in anyway. I was just curious because I thought dealerships were giving out loaners outta their own pocket (not exactly, since they're getting paid for the services). Thus, if your repair job doesn't make them enough money, such as a simple oil change, I doubt they'll give out a loaner for free.

However, I do know that the dealerships often have loaners that they actually rent out to the customers who needs a car during the service period at a pretty fair price. The rental policy, I believe, is also very similar to those rental car company's.

I hope Nissan does the right thing for you in this case. :)

Good luck!
