Another great option is to buy used. That goes a long way to relieving "perfect new car" axiety. It can be a blessing if you have that particular problem. Most every day dings can't be seen from 10 feet away, so you know it's there because you polish it every week, but nobody else can see it.

even if they do see it, they don't care because it's not their car

Wait -- I have this "perfect new car" anxiety, too! Perhaps someone could recommend a new pharmaceutical drug that can make it all go away?
