Are the 40th anny editions going to be worth it and or hard to get?

Im thinking I may finally pull the trigger.

They will be semi-limited -- meaning just enough for your dealer to justify not coming very much off sticker. You shouldn't really expect to see increased value for that, though. And don't believe the hype of "hard to get". There will be several available in the New Orleans area and one (maybe even two) at each of the 13 or so dealerships in Houston. They will be readily available.

I think they look nice in photos. If you're willing to pay the slight premium for the look, go for it. You will love the car.

I'm going to try to get one, assuming the price isn't crazy. I bet some dealers are going to mark it up above MSRP.

What makes you choose the 40th anniversary edition over the NISMO?

quadsbaby 01-13-2010 12:10 AM

From all reports, the NISMO is overpriced and underperforming. Why pay extra for cloth and a suspension that will shake my kidneys out of my body if it only slightly improves performance? The 40th Anniversary is a Touring + Sport in M6, which is what I was planning on buying anyway. The difference is it comes in a special interior and exterior color, both of which I like, and it's limited to only 1000 cars made. I do think it's going to make some impact on the resale price in 5-10 years, as long as Nissan doesn't do something dumb like release more cars with the same exterior color.

If I were buying a track car to be modded, maybe I'd start with the Nismo but I'm looking for a daily driver here.

The Nismo version does get a slight HP boost, so that has to be worth something.

I'm kinda disappointed that the 40th anniversary version will not come with NAV, nor will Nav be an available option.

That is the reason the anniversary is worthless, why make a car with all the touring extras and not throw in Nav or at least give the option to have it? :shakes head:

The red calipers alone are worth the extra $$$$ phssshhh lol

MastaRip 01-14-2010 10:42 PM

Yea i was definitely set on getting the 40th Aniv addition, and the fact that it does not include nav is what turned me off of it.

SAME HERE! WTF is NISSAN THINKING?!?

whoady4shoady 01-15-2010 03:02 PM

I dont get what is the big deal about Nav? I mean most of the newer phones have it now. Im not sure i will be getting a 40th now though. The price is just a tad out of the range i wanted to pay.

~Convenience
~Built in
~Safety/Security
~Cheaper

Each of those have more detailed reasons, but you get the idea. Navigation built into a car is a major factor for many car owners, especially those who wish not to modify their car.
