Default 370z vs Z4 sDrive35is

Ok Ok, this argument has been done to death..... but this time Bmw bring something worth debating about to the table.

" dubbed Z4 sDrive35is , the new model features a revised twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six that spits out 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, with an overboost function capable of a momentary bump up to 369 torques. Paired with BMW's seven-speed Sport Automatic dual-clutch transmission, the drivetrain is good for 0-62 miles-per-hour in in 4.8 seconds."

Would you contemplate BMW ownership over a 370 roadster?

no... I'd still buy a coup over roadster 370 though in my opinion of course. but both are bad cars, BMWs are nice too, but expensive to me in comparison to what can be had with the abilities and support of the Z. YMMV

tough call...brand new vs brand new, i think the Z has more bang for your buck. being able to have a hardtop convertible would be really fun, but you're definitely paying a premium for it. you'll probably end up spending anywhere from 55-60 for the z4, just about double the Z. is it double the Z? not in my opinion.

it also depends on what you want out of the car. if i wanted something i could drive hard and really push, i'd go with the Z. If I wanted something to cruise around in and every now and then do some "spirited driving" then the Z4 would be my choice.

wow that would be one very quick car w/ a tune + some basic bolt ons... imagine having a 400whp Z4 for 3k over msrp - that would pretty much make up for a Z w/ an FI kit

With a base price of $60,000, 3k over MSRP is still quite a steep price. That's a lot of work that could be done on a Z. Two pretty different cars. Way different price ranges. It'd be more comparable to a Cayman S, M3, or Vette.

oh, well in that case count me out haha. I would love a 4000 hp Z, heck I would love a Z in general.
