FYI. 2010 nismo Front bumper conversion
2 Attachment(s)
So I just recently had my 09-14 front nismo bumper painted and installed, bought the oem nismo front fender liners and the zspeed nismo aluminum undershroud. Turns out I also need the undershroud extension piece that connects the undershroud to the splitter on the front bumper. I’ve looked around everywhere for an aftermarket piece(was hoping it would be compatible with the zspeed undershroud) as the oem plastic one Nissan makes is $800.
I bought the 350z undershroud extender, but that doesn’t come close to fitting. Thought maybe I could drill new holes into it, but it is inches away still. Just now I ended up buying the $800 oem plastic extender from Z1 motorsports, which should for sure fit correctly. I’ve searched around on google hundreds of times and could barely find anything on anyone else having this problem.(most must not care for spending $800 for plastic lol). So I made this thread to hopefully help others out with the same problem. Anyone that dealt with this problem in a way other than dropping $800 on the oem piece, it would be helpful to me and many other on what you did or what can be done to keep that front lip sturdy so it doesn’t bend in the wind. 350z nismo undershroud Extension

Thanks for the info. Nissan inflates the price of that piece bc it's the first thing to get damaged and insurance pays for it so.. $$$$$

Yep that little plastic piece is expensive!
I've seen people run their cars without it, and I could actually see the front bumper fascia getting pushed in a little at the bottom while the car was moving. The support piece is a must have. Steep price for Gen 1 Nismo conversion. |
Time to get creative with CAD (cardboard aided design).
Should be able to make a template to transfer to some 1/8 aluminum sheet |

Please document the solution!!! If I could do a v1 Nismo bumper conversion for a reasonable price, I'd be all over it!

FWIW Cheapest I found for oem was at courtesyparts.com for $635. I never realized how expensive that conversion was/is.
