Yup. I will guarantee you the dude in the other car is going to call one.

What Betty said.

Wow, happy to read that you are fine. Get things taken care of with insurance, see a doc and get yourself a new Z!

To elaborate: you never know what **** the other driver will pull. I saw a case where the other driver claimed she was pregnant, had a miscarriage due to the accident, and sued for wrongful death. Med records in discovery showed she hadn't even been pregnant.

Moral of the story: everyone is scum and they'll scam you out of your house unless you protect yourself.

I hate to be the 800lb gorilla in the room, but if you were making a left you probably didn’t have the “right of way”...

Hope you're ok. You can’t fix your body as easily as fixing the Z. That’s the important part.

I know in the past when I totaled my 2009 370z the insurance company allowed me to remove my exhaust as long as I replaced it with the stock. They said I could remove anything I wanted as long as it was replaced with an equal part. So I went to the body shop with my own tools and removed the exhaust. Dumped the factory one in the trunk as it wasn't required to be attached. Removed the K&N drop in filters and replaced with factory ( I had removed the factory when they were still very low mileage and the pack rat I am I never threw away). I removed the rear trunk shade and inner consul tray as those were options, not standard equipment.

I then bought a 2010 NISMO and used all those parts on it. So just check with your insurance adjuster and see if they will allow you to make a swap. Assuming you have all the factory parts

Yep, here in AZ, that's automatic fault regardless of circumstances. Their logic is that the person turning left always has the last chance to avoid the accident.

As long as your liability insurance is strong you probably have nothing to worry about but you might take a rate hit.

Yeah. The cop told me at the accident scene. Basically it's always your fault in that scenario even if I was screened by a big bro dozer turning in front of the guy. The cop had a z too. He was sad for me.

I told the geico lady "if there weren't mitigating circumstances what would make you think I would turn my beloved z in the path of a maniac speeding through an intersection " but I know they are bound by it. Just like if you hit someone from behind you're always liable.

That part is what it is. Well see about my rates.

I'm just sad about the car and wondering what's next. Another z with forced induction this time? I really would like a factory five 818c. Maybe a second gen viper? Maybe back to land cruisers and get a 200 and build it up? Were on vacation and I rented a jeep and I like it a lot. Maybe a newer jl four door to build up?

Honestly i try avoid lefts in certain intersections. Glad youre okay. Hope you get decent value back.

The Z is a solid car and can literally take a beating. Judging from the accident it could have gone a LOT worse.
