Funny story about the rev match. When we first started looking at them, we test drove a used '15 Nismo. It had an aftermarket exhaust which was louder than stock. This immediately brought my attention to the throttle being blipped for what I thought was no reason whatsoever (I wasn't aware of the rev match). I thought something was wrong with car, even saying that to the salesman (though he should have known what it was).

So I laughed when I found out about it. That said, it's one of the things I like about my base model. It doesn't have it. Manually matching engine speed to vehicle speed is one of the charms of a manual transmission. It seems to me that if I wanted or needed rev match, I would just by one with an automatic transmission.

So you equate Rev matching with automatics?

Wow! That’s a stretch...

PS: you can turn it off. Just sayin’:driving:

Well not directly equate. But it is something that can be done manually that's now done automatically, so.....

By the way, does that have to be turned off every time the car is started, or does it remain off until turned back on?

It remains in the setting it was in when the car was last running.

So when I don’t feel like dealing with a clutch, I can push a button and make it an automatic?

That’s freaking cool!

What I MEANT was if you press the S button twice the trans turns into an automatic.

Three times and it ejects the passenger.

Well, I said nothing of the sort, but have fun banging on that straw man. Look, I in no way meant to disparage anybody who enjoys that feature. I was talking from a personal perspective.

All perfectly normal AFAIC

If you have Rev match turned on, it will “Rev” when you shake the stick in neutral. I’m guessing there’s some kind of relay that tells the motor you’re in between gears and to “match” the revs, maybe your synchros or going?

Makes me think that if my trans starts shifting like butter, I’m going to have a problem?

Now that I think about I it could possibly be a trans mount I think I’m going to order the z1 urathaine one
