First Winter for the 370z

I TRIED to drive mine in the snow today. I made it about a half mile, now it's sitting in a driveway (not mine) and I rented a Ford Focus.

I TRIED to drive mine in the snow today. I made it about a half mile, now it's sitting in a driveway (not mine) and I rented a Ford Focus. Snow tires and wheels on the way. I was blown away how bad the sport tires are in the snow. Zero traction. I only had one problem in my 350 in the three years that I had it, but I had all-season tires and of course higher profile tire.
Come on Blizzaks!

You have NO idea how much better this makes me feel. I've basically been having the old internal freaking out all day over not being able to get my car to move. We don't get that much snow here, but our road crews bite the biggest one. They were our for two days spreading brine on the roads before the snow came and I think they were inside all day today watching soap operas. They sure weren't clearing the roads.

Winter tires make a HUGE difference. Driving care and good tires will help a lot. The low ground clearance will cause some issues with deep snow, but covered streets can be tamed by good winter tires.

And for the record......you don't have a DSG/PDK transmission. You have a conventional planetary gear style tranny. The DSG/PDK are dual output shaft transmissions (simplified explanation)

I hate Winter, drove my 350Z last year but I wasn't as bad as this Winter. The 370Z is staying in the garage unless is over 50ºF and sunny.

People around here don't know how to drive.

You'll be good with a nice set of winter tires + rims.
AK has a nice write up on his set up, you can check it out on the rims/wheels section of the forums!
Be safe!

PA winters are suicidal for cars like the Z. Mine's clean and dry and warm for the winter in the garage. And I visit her nightly...

For those storing in the garage - do you have a cover for her? If so, which one?

Here's a couple of Pics of my Z heading South for the winter. It will be enjoying the winter in Las Vegas.
