MY 2020 370z Arrived Yesterday!

I got the call today that I could pickup my new 2020 370z on Monday!:icon17:
The sales manager offered to let me come and see it today before they did the PDI. I couldn't resist!:yum:
I showed up at closing time so he let me drive it into the garage for overnight storage. WHAT A TEASE!!
I placed this order back in Oct 2018. When it arrived I found out I got a 2020 in stead of a 2019. SWEET!:icon17:

IS IT MONDAY YET?!

Memphis370Z 04-27-2019 09:52 PM

SORRY! I was so excited and they were closing. Completely forgot to snap a quick photo. It still had all the protective plastic on it and everything!:icon17:

No excuse, period. We needed proof of life with or without transport protection papers. Jk

Geoff-AU 04-28-2019 12:26 AM

Awesome! Congrats on your new Z. I ordered mine in January 2018 and picked it up in July so I can sympathise with the wait. But it's worth it  I took it on a 2700km road trip earlier this month and had a blast, you will too!

danegrey 04-28-2019 06:11 AM

congrats and welcome and remember the Z likes to run.....

Congrats! It’s not the 50th aniiversary edition, is it?

Bryzed 04-28-2019 07:46 AM

Maybe I’m a bit thick, but how can it be a 2020 car when we’re only in April 2019 ? Either way you must so excited

JARblue 04-28-2019 08:52 AM

Marketing? The next year model pretty much always hits dealerships at least by the summer before. So really this is just a few months earlier than usual.

CRiZO 04-28-2019 10:21 AM

Why such a delay?

Because literally nothing is different. May as well start delivering 2021's. :icon17:

NO. The 2020s were not even out yet when I ordered it.
It took about 3+ months for it to make it into the production queue. I guess by then they had started producing the 2020 models. It was a nice surprise when I was told it was a 2020 not a 2019.

I think they just slapped a new vin tag on it when it arrived and it magically became a 2020 model!!:rofl2:

abm89 04-28-2019 12:14 PM

will rage if 2020 has the VR30 (Just kidding, it doesnt)

Congrats on the new vehicle!

barncobob 04-28-2019 04:39 PM

usually the new cars dont come out till Aug.Sep,,im thinking its a marketing
gimmick to get rid of inventory..still its a nice car..

someboredguy,

Cut the crap! Tell us about the wet dream you had when they put the keys in your hand!

Rusty 04-28-2019 09:47 PM

Well...............look at it this way. Now we know there won't be a Z35 for 2020, and no changes for 2020 either. :(

I signed the papers today!:icon17:
This time I remembered to snap some pics!
I also had the salesman drive it to my house to check the ground clearance. I have speed bumps in my neighborhood and a fairly steep driveway entrance. ALL IS GOOD! The front lip still have almost 2in of clearance when entering my driveway.
I go pick it up tomorrow!:happydance:

dlgkswh88 04-29-2019 05:47 PM

Looking good!
Congrats!

Sway 04-29-2019 06:04 PM

Nice pick up

Ratatouille89 04-30-2019 12:20 AM

I dont think this is the 2020 model as it was manufactured on January 2019, and they normally start shipping model changed cars in april of that year, so for me I'm getting a 2018 model even though I ordered mine on March 2019. It could be different for some states but the 370z is the same anyways haha , congrats on the new car :) drive safe

Zat_Zuma 04-30-2019 11:21 AM

Congrats fellow Canuck!

:welcome:

Volk Z 04-30-2019 12:09 PM

That just sounds odd. 12 years ago I remember seeing the concept 370z.... Nissan need to make a new Z or drop the vr30dtt in the Z.

Congrats, the Z is fantastic. Just needs a refresh soon.

Correct me if I'm wrong ( I've been a z owner since 2002) but when they switched to a 370z there was still 2008 350z released which I assume cut beginning to mid year latest and then later that year 2009 370z released end of 2008...

I included the picture of the VIN for haters like you! JK :p
The "L" means 2020.

I think it is quite funny that they started making 2020 cars way back in Jan 2019!:icon17:

saywat? 04-30-2019 02:00 PM

anything different about the newer z? black head lights and painted rear mid section and new wheels? anything else? the car, along with the g, just had too long of a production run.

Absolutely nothing new! No surprise there!:icon17:

The fact that the 370z has not changed in 10 years is one of the things I like about it. It means there are TONS of after market parts that have been refined by now.
But... I will celebrate on the day they announce a new design!

SomeBoredGuy 04-30-2019 02:16 PM

I have a theory about this strange decision to start making 2020 370z cars as early as Jan 2019.... assuming this is an unusual occurrence.

Perhaps they needed to build up the 2020 stock earlier than normal because they needed to re-tool for a new version of the Z coming in 2021????:yum:

JARblue 04-30-2019 03:20 PM

You're dreaming buddy...

Although I wouldn't put it past Nissan to do something that stupid - put a weak âss effort into the 50th anniversary model and then pump out a brand new chassis model the following year :bowrofl: :wtf2:

Raidernation 04-30-2019 03:29 PM

Congrats OP now start modding her.

Congrats. Something about those wheels don't look right. It's just plain Jane.

Quicksilvers 04-30-2019 10:39 PM

Congratulations beautiful Z you have there! Do you have any plans on installing different wheels? Those wheels look too plain I agree you should consider some different wheels it will set off your Z’s look very nicely!

Unfortunately, my first financial task is to scrape some money together for a cheep winter beater car!:p
I don't want winter to arrive and I am stuck having to get my baby coated in salt for 6 months!:crying:
