$1500 cash. Money well spent.

I think it was Blanche or Doris that used to dime me out to the HOA. :shakes head:

On par with the 86? Don’t get me wrong, the 86 is a fun little car with a nice looking exterior... but the Z blows it out of the water on every level.

That doesn’t make any sense, we’re talking about cars not drivers... and if the person knows how to drive the 86, that doesn’t make the person in the Z not know how to drive.

The Z is just a better car, period.

Back on topic though, you’re just at the tip of the modding iceberg. Look at my mod list in my build thread, and I still want Hotchkis sway bars, endlinks, headers, cams, seats, throttle bodies, ported lower intake manifold, and a retune.

I’m just the messenger.

“I am coming from an 86 platform and man that car is solid and well balanced. It is efficient and it actually forces you to become astute in you driving skill. That was a humbling experience for me. That car was a momentum car. You almost always have to create your advantage due to the lack in power and you learn to do it efficiently.”

He's only a couple of inches into the rabbit hole. Wait until he does a trackday, or decides to go FI. :rofl2: And watch his credit cards melt into lumps of plastic. He should look at my list. My rims was almost double the price of his.

He's bitching about spending 10K. Helll, I'm eyeballing a set of coilovers for 10K. :yum:

I may have spent more than 10k for tires only

But I wouldn't say tires, brake pads, other consumables as mods, because they may get more expensive on other platforms and you will be needing to change them.

Also, the 370z is a more refined car compared to 86, I drove both, I drove both stock and modified, stock 370z is more capable compared to 86, you only needs to get camber in front to unleash its potential, the alignment is very conservative specially front, on other hand, I would agree 86 will make you push your skills, but it doesn't give exciting feeling when I drive it.

Lol I hope you weren't wearing a 5- or 6-point harness when you got that "exciting feeling." I imagine that could quickly turn into an entirely different sort of feeling.

Wooh, glad everyone is having a field day around here. Happy Sunday! I AGREE WITH WHAT EVERYONE SAID ABOUT THE Z IN COMPARISON TO THE 86!!! Last time i checked, i traded my 86. If i recall i said z is on par with 86 (in terms or handling) if not better. There is no way on hell that i insinuate that the 86 is better otherwise, i would still own it. Thing about opinion is evrybody got one and i said the 86 will make a person a better driver but in no way did i say that an 86 owner drives better than a z owner so i dont know where all these ideas are coming from. Yes, im bitching about 10k because i dont have an unlimited funds. If you could afford a 10k coilover, good for you. Heck, im even happy for you that you can afford all those expensive wheels and items. I wosh i could do the same but in reality, i cant. Hence i am asking dor advice so i dont fall deep into the rabbit hole.

If you read my build thread. You will notice everything is thought out. No impulse buying. And that there is an order on why I did things.

I see a lot of things done to your car that i really like. Thanks

Zalot 04-16-2019 05:40 AM

Spl midlink vs true coilover set up pls share you experience.

Rjm clutch assembly does is truly help with the csc issue.

BettyZ 04-16-2019 06:19 AM

RJM helps with the feel and accuracy of your shifts. Getting a CMAK from ZSpeed helps with the CSC. And "while you're in there" you might as well get a new clutch and flywheel.
