Current 370z trims available:
  • Base = $30k
  • Heratige = $31k
  • Sport = $34k
  • Sport Touring = $38k
  • Nismo = $45k

Base is uh, basic
Sport adds $4,000 in performance upgrades
Touring adds $4,000 worth of interior upgrades
Nismo adds stiffness to the Sport goodies

Is there a reason this is on page 7?

Don't kill the messenger, but . . . yeah this is worse than we expect. Not just an appearance package, but an ugly appearance package

That appearance package is not something I'd like to purchase. However on my way home after work, I pulled along side a clean, post 2013 gun metalic Sport Z. I gotta say guys, your Z still looks good for a 10 year old design

Sport adds $4k of stuff no one wants...

Weak VLSD which ends up being an open diff after a little heat
Bose system with noise cancellation that everyone replaces
Syncro rev - no comment
Rear spoiler that does nothing

Base and Sport suspension is identical

Only advantage of the Sport are the larger, better brakes, and possibly the 19" Rays.

Nismo springs and shocks are totally different from Sport, adds Yamaha chassis dampeners, and additional bracing on front shock tower brace. Also better wheels and functional aero package.

Not trying to continue beating a dead horse, just tired of people making the Sport to be a superior car to the base, which it isn't. Some of you guys make it sound like it's the same as going from a Corvette Stingray to a Z06.

It’s not like a base vette vs a z06 no, but those brakes are a pretty big deal. The akebono brake set up is awesome, and a big brake kit is an expensive add on. Rev match is a nice feature, and the Z looks terrible without a spoiler. “No one wants” is a huge understatement.

350z was around for 7 years and was developed better imho.
DE engine
Rev up Engine
HR engine
Along with different lights, bumper and bonnet (hood) and interior tweeks . Also why did Nissan ditch the 350z alloy rear subframe for the steel one in the 370z?

Because it's stronger.

Speak for yourself :tiphat:

When it was unveiled on the 370Z, the sports package was one of the best valued dealer performance packages (w/o HP increase) on the market. That $3500 gets you a huge amount of performance upgrades. Compared to the extreme Nismo markup (for an aero kit, some dampers, and slightly varied exhaust and tune and suspension) the value is far superior IMNSHO.

And heavier. So was the alloy one in the 350z known to be a weak point ?

There is some flex in it. For better handling. They went with steel. Also, it's cheaper.

People spend the extra $ for the sports package for a reason, so to say “no one wants” is bit of an erroneous statement. I think the spoiler/wheels/interior is well worth the extra and the calipers add a nice touch to the car. I went from a basic base ‘07 350Z to an ‘09 7AT touring/sports/nav and now a ‘13 6MT touring/sports/nav, and I personally don’t regret the upgraded purchase.

In regards to the statement about people with the add-on’s feeling superior compared to their base counterparts, well, I’d say give them the respect for spending the extra $. In retrospect, I always get the feeling that the owners without the sports package are bitter and resent the owners with the sports package (ie buyer’s remorse), but that’s just my opinion. I know I was when I was driving the base 350Z.

I know there was a local listing for a used Z that did the same thing with the roof/hood/hatch. While I do try to respect people's tastes, that's one of those things I just can't understand at all.

Couldn't really expect much out of this 50th. I mean I don't think Nissan is banking on the idea of trying to win back former owners or have current ones re-buy. They're just trying whatever....edgy ways they can to make use of all the leftover parts — which will be great for us trying to keep our Z's running for much longer down the road.

For someone who can't heel/toe, sure it's a "nice" features. For those of us who can, it's not. Looking terrible without the spoiler is a matter of opinion.

Akebono brakes is the only true worthwhile upgrade the Sports package offers the buyer. It's a good upgrade, not a "huge amount of performance". And my setup is much better for a lot less with the parts I wanted.

My brother had the manual Sport package, and I drove it loads of times. Even with both cars in bone stock form, I preferred my base, which is just one of my reasons as to why I purchased the base to begin with.

As to the resent... Yeah, I don't think so.

Yes, hence my comment “but that’s my opinion”, as you have stated yours about sports package owners superiority.....

Then Nismo owners shouldn't talk to you.
