What was the point of this thread again? lol

You're asking US why someone we don't know flipped you off? That's like asking my Math's teacher why the English teacher failed me lol

and most of them live in my neighborhood, so now it's a competition to see who can be the biggest jackass on the road and park in the two spots with one car in front of the local coffee shop and be the most conspicuously wealthy....but then the guy with the lambo shows up or the 911 turbo and us Z and Beemer owners get put in our place.....

being humble, discrete, and non boastful is a virtue.

...and the same goes for not getting into street races with WRX drivers....

until recently I drove a Camaro SS, and everyone in a WRX or M3 wanted to race me, it got annoying, and I had to learn to ignore it. Now I drive a Z and I never get revved at or cut up with intent to intimidate or irritate or supply needy vane attention to youngsters like I used to.

I keep mine on my hip, much quicker draw than the glove box. I asked the guy if he was bullet proof, and he went back to his car...

:rofl2:Well to be honest, I tried carrying it in my crossbreed supertuck holster but the bucket seats make it bulge into my ribs, not very comfortable. It actually stays in the center console or wedged between the seat and the console. Hope I never have to use it, but I take full advantage of the right to!

You would understand if you moved to El Paso, or border Texas in general.

I keep mine between the seat and the center console. Now maybe I'm the only one but there have been occasions that people have started trying to get me to race, be a general pain or whatever and I've reported them to the police. I'm sorry but I don't need to be bothered by some punk trying to egg me on when I'm on my way somewhere.

Auto theft is pretty severe here, yes. It is imperative to get a good car alarm if you park outside. Also, just across the border there is a major drug war going on which has resulted so far in 2,600 deaths since last January, effectively making it the most violent city in the world. While the violence doesnt seem to have spilled completely over here, I never leave my apartment without a gun, better safe than sorry. I dont know if you've heard lately, but Americans have become quite popular for kidnapping/torture/executions in Mexico recently, you might want to rethink your vacation, haha. Its so bad, Military/Civilian personnel working at Bliss are strictly prohibited from entering the country.

If the wetback problem is that bad, I recommend the Sig P226. If it’s good enough for the Navy Seals, it should be good enough for Texas.

In Houston, I'm starting to believe my Z Roadster is a D-bag-in-a-Porsche magnet. Twice in a couple of days, two separate silver 911s (one was a really sweet Turbo) have tried to race or show me up.

Tonight on the Southwest Freeway, I overtook the Turbo in medium freeway traffic. I was going about 78-80mph -- not revving or anything. He allowed me to fully pass, then ducked in behind me to get a look at what I was and sped up to pass me on the left. I maintained constant speed the whole time. I watched him pass -- he was a guy who looked to be in his 50s or older, with thinning hair and glasses.

He got several car lengths ahead and slowed down to allow me to catch up. I never changed my speed. When I got almost even with him, he stood on it and sped away, hoping I'd play.

Then, as if to give me another chance, he did the same thing all over again.

If it had been this guys son driving daddy's Porsche, I would have understood, but seriously...

Any mods?

This thread might have the lead for fail thread of the year in 2010. Now I'm going to the WRX forums to vent about a WRX guy that came into these forums to vent about someone who happened to be driving a z that flipped him off.

Not Texas in general, but border towns have flared up recently because of the increased security/law enforcement along the rio grande. It's harder for coyotes to bring illegals across and harder for smugglers to bring drugs across.
