I agree. 0 to 60 mph should be 4.6 seconds, maybe 4.5! |

Sorry dude but I have owned and raced GT's, 350Z and 370Z and I will say you aren't "killing" GT's :bs: :bs: :bs:. |

As far as superchargers go, you can order your new 2010 GT with a blower. It's a FRPP kit that is usually dealer-installed before you take delivery. It's fully tuned and warranty supported. |

As I said the GT's before 2005 I would believe the Z to pull but NOT "Kill". BTW the 03 GT's were making about 260 to the wheels not 270. The 2005 made about 265 to 270 to the wheels. The 2006 averaged about 275 to 279 to the rear wheels. The Shelby GT's were putting down 282 to 286 to the wheels...with an occasional Shelby GT freak putting 290 to 292 to the wheels. I would say that the best claims that can be truthfully made by a Z owner is that they were trading noses with the later GT's from 2006 to 2009...they certainly were not "killing" them. ANother FACT...the 2010 Mustang GT's are about 2 to 4 HP short of what the Shelby GT's are making to the wheels. |
I dont know stangs well enough to know them by years but I do know that Im beating the new style stangs which I guess could be the 05 to 09s??? and I pull on them very quickly and by the time we hit 80 -90 (which is where I usually cut it off for safety reasons LOL) Im more than a car ahead. Now I dont doubt I can do that to the 2010 but I havent gone against one yet that I know of. Im sure the 2010 will be about even with our Z. I can only say about the ones I ve had a go with what ever their year was. Take it for what its worth.

The problem is the torque is all there at launch with Mustangs that the clutch has to be feathered into the launch off the line in order to get the tires to hook right away. And this takes an experienced driver to be able to consistently hook more often than not.....not some weekend wannabee...and certainly not by some puzzy-azz rolling start. As I said before and I'll say it again...the best anyone owning a stock Z can say is that on any given run a stock Z or a stock Mustang GT (06-10) can win and most of the time they will be trading noses the majority of a race. There is NO KILLING of a Mustang GT (06-10) by a Z. |
Figured i'd chime in with my .02, my car club usually does drag race night once a month at the local strip, so far I myself, have raced 3 current generation mustang gt's, havent lost yet with my best win being a full second faster, probably a bad driver, but they were all pretty simple wins. I consider a full second "killing" to be honest, but like I said, he probably wasnt the best driver. If you want to have a numbers battle, the Z outperforms the GT from 0-60 Acceleration, 1/4 mile, Slalom, Skid pad, etc. Here is a vid for confirmation. If i'm not mistaken, that is a 2010 GT.
