Sorry I totally hijacked this thread. |

I could give two hairy turds less about what others have to say or think about the Z. I bought it for me. I didn't buy it for my brother, I didn't buy it to be "accepted", I bought it because it's a great looking car, has an excellent track record (no pun intended), and I wanted one. With that said, maybe it could be considered a GT car. Right out of the factory, it's pretty damn good at most everything, definitely above average. And it's definitely a fine cruiser. Keep in mind, some sports cars are nearly unbearable to drive on the streets no matter what, even just out of the driveway. With the Z, you can drive cross-country fairly comfortably. |
it is inevitable when an $40k car depreciated to $15k. I've seen the same with the M3 and NSX.
Along with that, it also brings in a completely different demographic of owners in the forums....and some can be quite obnoxious. Quote:

I think the 370z is sorely misunderstood by both the public and the car community. From what I gather, the general public doesn't know what to think of it, but car people in general think of it as an old, underpowered, slow car that only an idiot would buy instead of a new Mustang or Camaro. Every time I hear this, I get a sour taste in my mouth. I think most of us here can agree the 370 is a pure driver's car, and can not be compared to any muscle car, but people continue to do so. And as long as they make those kinds of comparisons, the 370z will have a bad reputation.

I agree completely about the Z being a drivers car. I haven't even found the limit of the cars grip yet as I don't seem to have the balls to! On my way home from work there's this sick little high speed chicane and when I'm lucky enough to get to it with no one in front of me I like to test myself a bit. No matter how fast I've hit it I've never even heard a chirp from the tires. It just digs in man. Which tells me I'd have to hit that thing going a good bit faster than I'm comfortable with to really reach the cars grip limits. And that would be a disastrous spot to lose control... |
don't turn this into a very expensive experiment... ;)

Yea thats my attitude to..but its getting very annoying being followed around and getting ******** tickets from cops "speed not reasonable for conditions" and the lack of public knowledge of the car. All idiots think im driving a car 60,000 dollars or more because it looks like one so they treat me like a rich douchbag. they dont let me merge into traffic and they dont respect my turn signals trying to get off the highway and i cant forget about the constant tailgating even tho im in the middle or right lane. Some people are something else!
