Here is the 2017 Elise Sprint cup 220 much lighter and faster with some new body upgrades. So yes the Z is a lone sports car that has not been updated but not the Lotus Elise.

Ah yes! The Elise Sprint Cup 220. But that is a very special edition Elise. One hell of a beast.
Lotus still sells the base Elise, same as it ever was.

"The Nissan 370Z isn’t a sensible or logical vehicle, it’s an emotional one that’s proud to live in its own world of irrationality. If you find yourself nodding along in agreement, then go out and get one because purity never lasts and the Z doesn’t look long for this world."

I'm Nodding intensely. Once a Z'er, always a Z'er. I Love My Z.

I wasn’t referring to rarity or lightness. Of course in those aspects, the two cars don’t compare. I was referring to “two seater, rear wheel drive” sports cars that have not been updated in a long time (still being sold). Can you think of any others?

The NC MX-5 Miata had about a 10 year run, it's been updated now though...lol.

Got you sir, but the Elise is being updated I believe but yes as mentioned by someone unfortunately it would not reach the US market due to federal regulations as the car ( Elise) is built for the track.

No. The Lotus Elise has been relativity the same since the early years of the S2. But yes, newer years are not sold in the US anymore; new as in 2012 and beyond.

My bro and I raced all the time and I've driven the Elise. The Z, although being a lot heavier, does still compare and compete with the Elise.
