What's your ranking on GT5 Demo contest?

Started today:

#916: 1.42 and 1.57

Anyone here in the top 100?

How close is the game to real life? I haven't been on track so don't know how this car performs in reality, but if it's as hard as the game, this car is "out of control".

10335 i think

iceman21_23 12-19-2009 08:35 PM

at one point i was 97th then the next morning i was like 330th

MC 12-20-2009 01:15 AM

im stuck at 1'39.886

the physics of the game are good but for the demo its set to professional and stability control off... i think with that it spins waaaay too easily.

As of right now I'm:

2034 3'36.378 overall
3289 1'41.710 tuned
2525 1'54.668 stock

I'm sure this will change by morning but I will keep trying to best myself until Jan 25th. As for compared to real life, the car seems a bit more forgiving in real life than in the game. At least when I auto-x it seems a lot easier to correct plus you can feel when the car is going to lose traction where in the game you can't. Then again the track in the game is more of a road course which I don't have experience with; I suppose at higher speeds the car may not be as forgiving.

way to hard for me with the controller. im about to go buy the logitech wheel to help me out.

RaptorGTS 12-20-2009 08:25 AM

I'm at 1:41 tuned and 1:50 untuned. I havent really spent much time on the untuned car. I went and got a Logitech wheel 2 days ago just for the demo.

The demo is definately not as forgiving as the real thing IMHO

After having Forza 3 since launch playing the Gran Turismo 5 370z demo is almost unbearable...
throttle control and brake modulation is a joke using the ps3 controller, and the game lacks proper input from traction conditions and track...

but it looks pretty.. i guess.

Its impossible with a controller, but with a steering wheel its nice.

Forza is too "arcadey" and not real enough compared to GT5. It will give you bad habits that will be hard to break on GT5.

Have not had a chance to play yet, but I find it interesting so many of you are commenting on the accuracy or inaccuracy of the car. It is interesting to see how well the car matches real life, especially seeing as many people here track/auto-x their Z.

I wouldn't call Forza "arcadey". To me, they're both about the same in simulation ability.

I just can't do well on the controller for GT5 after using the MS Wheel for Forza now for about a year now. It's too responsive. Slighest nudge or press reacts too much.

I think the detail in the scenry is better in Forza...but that's just fluff.

I have to use both joysticks as it is impossible to get the throttle and steering modulation correct with the d-pad. I don't think I have put together a solid lap yet in either, yesterday my overall rank was 411 I think, I am sure I have fallen quite a bit today though.

Ha yeah right now I am 785

tuned time of 1'40:5
normal time of 1'52:4

I wonder who all the "GTP_..." people are at the top...

Forza is much more forgiving though, its easier to regain control if you are spinning out. Forza is very playable with just a regular controller, GT on the other hand is not.

And I dont think its fair to compare either games just yet, as it is merely a demo of the physics and driving, and not necessarily a representation of the final product.

I'm guessing its a clan/group on GT Prologue

Yeah, THAT'S all I need...two wheels in the house !!! :eekdance:

I would say Forza 3 is more forgiving (as they designed for the masses a bit more) but Forza 2---FWD can be a mutha !
