Watch this bro. The reverse gear is the most fun gear on the highway!
|
I'm shifting around 3k and cruise at 6th.
|
i switch between first and second gear, the rest are pretty useless
|
:icon14:
I has 6th gears but only use 4...cuz...RCR!!11! |

Sometimes I take 1st out to 3500rpm. Don't really feel the necessity to drag the gears out when i'm just driving normally. |
When I wanted to save gas I used to shift around 2k, now I just shift around 2.8k because my test pipes makes my exhaust loud as fk at 3k rpm lol. I shift around 2.8k in every gear and just cruise at 6th anywhere. If I want to pass someone I always just downshift and pass, then go back to 6th. In the city or hwy, unless you're out for a spirited drive. I don't really see a reason keeping it in any other gear and keeping the rpms at like 4k, you can just downshift anytime to pass someone and keeping the revs so high is very annoying (exhaust noise and gas waste). In my own opinion, of course
|
Same here, all gears shifting at 3k and cruise 6 on the fwy.
|
Ahhh and this is why I don't like to buy used sports cars. ;)
I shift between 3-4k in normal driving. On the highway I cruise in 6th gear. |
I launch with 6th gear. don't really need any gear other than 6 tbh

yall are a bunch of *******. I never shift, I just ride in 1st wherever I damn well please, **** the noise. Either that or I just start in 6th when I got a long ways to go and stay that way the whole trip. That's the kinda thing this car was made for...

Threw It On The Ground - YouTube and start shifting at 6000+. |
Haha throw it on the ground! I forgot about that gem! But seriously, 2-4k for me while in the city. Higher when doin the 130 miles home
|
Normal whatever driving, I shift around 2.5-3k. sometimes 3.5k if I want to hear the engine slightly more.
|
3,300 rpm under normal driving.
between 6,000/7,000 rpm under aggressive driving. |
I redline 1st gear every time. That puts me at nearly 40 mph. At that point I can shift into 6th and save the wear on my clutch :icon17:
But seriously, for me: "easy going" is 2.5K-3K RPMs, "normal" is 3.5K-4K RPMs, "spirited" is 5K-5.5K and "aggressive" is every gear WOT to redline :driving: |
12k rpm all day long.
Really like 4k during normal driving |
I shift around 3k to 3500 for commuting. I try to cruise around 2700 rpm or so, whether that's 5th or 6th depending on traffic. If I'm beating on the car, I'll shift a little past 7k.
|
7500
JK LOL. Anywhere between 3.5-4.5 |
If you're looking for perfect acceleration/speed.
Bandwidth on the z is 7400 so if you are driving aggresively/ racing. If you shift at 7400 it will put the engine at peak. |
Redline every gear, especially if there is a car following me. :bowrofl:

Nothing like a liter bike screaming at redline with a 2 bro's pipe!! Traffic so bad around here it's not really worth to wind it out. Normally shift around 2200-2500, will cruise at 1700-2K. 1-2 shift seems smooth if done at 3500 or above. Will occasionally skip gears too - 1-3-5, just a matter of letting the rpms fall sufficiently (err wait, you folks in the 370z have that rev match gizmo. We don't have that in the G). |
Usually shift into 2nd at 3500 and every other gear around 2750-3000rpm for normal driving. Everyone seems to floor it at the light around me so I cant possibly see how people shift all gears at 2500 and still maintain a decent pace. Its all relative I guess
