I set my interior temp somewhere between 72 and 74 and let the car decide if AC is necessary. I don't pay attention to whether it's on or not and can't think of a reason why I would.

I keep Auto temp, auto fan and recirculate on year-round. Mitzee gives me what I need that way. 95% of the year, it's A/C. There's usually a couple of weeks in spring and fall that I run with the windows down.
Of course, the last couple of weeks, heat index has been around 110.

usually A/C on all the time and driving with the windows open, most of the year...

Temps in Northern VA were in the mid 90s this weekend and I was very comfortable without having to use the a/c in my Z. I cannot say the same for any other vehicle that I have ever owned or driven. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this and could possibly shed some light on the reasons why.

In mine, if I turn the thermostat to the coldest setting, the air flow automatically switches to recirculate and the A/C kicks on. However, the light doesn't come on indicating the A/C is on. I have to hit the A/C button so the light comes on then once again to get the A/C to kick off. If it's 90's outside then the air being pulled into the car will be in the 90's without some sort of cooling device. My guess is your A/C is actually running.

Unless I have a passenger or its raining, I always have the windows down and AC off. Air blows through the vents while the car is moving, so I set the temp set to 60F in hot weather and 90F in cold weather. Even when I do have the AC on, the minimum fan speed is usually comfortable enough.

Same here. Only in the rain do i engage the ol' AC. Or if my GF is whining about her hair blowing around ahah.

I run my A/C 100% of the time, with the interior recirculate button selected.

This filters out the smelly exhaust from running test pipes, very very well.

Smell is almost not noticeable at all with this method.

I only turn mine on about once a month to make sure it is still working.

At all times unless its not humid and not above 80 degrees. Too hot down here in the Houston summer!

That is a possibility but the air coming from the vents doesn't seem cold enough for the a/c to be running on the coldest setting. It also seems strange that the light would not come on automatically. Perhaps I am wrong, though. I'll do some further investigation when I get a chance and let you know what I find.

LOL, I live in Tucson Az over 110 here all week. We hit 90 for the first time this year in February. So I use the AC year round here.

Magic Bus 06-19-2017 06:48 PM

On 90% of the time for me. Gotta say, it's a great A/C. My old 04 G35 coupe which I had for 8 years, A/C was as cold the day I sold it versus day 1. Never did anything to it except, change the in cabin filter on a few occasions.

It may not be as cold as deliberately turning on the A/C, it is however much cooler than running without AC. With it being mid 90s out the air coming from the vents is going to be mid 90s also unless you run the AC. The AC may not automatically kick on if the thermostat is set to the coldest setting when the car starts, it does if I turn it to the coldest setting from a higher setting afterwards though. You can completely cut off the AC by turning it on then back off.

Only if very hot and raining, so once in last 6 months. Windows, now they are open 90pct of the time.

My climate control is always set to 70 so it will either heat or cool depending on the situation
