Just kidding. :D

On those diesels. That's called rolling coal. We got those idiots too. :shakes head: I own a Dodge Power Wagon. When I drive it. I get these idiots who want to drag race their mall crawlers. I ask them, lets go out into the woods. I know some really nasty trails. They all back down. They don't want to get their mall crawlers dirty. :shakes head:

I'm willing to bet my old turbo Volvo 850 saw more off road action than most of the lifted pick-ups and Jeeps that are around

Very true, especially amongst sport bike enthusiasts. I see people riding like morons on a daily basis. Gives the rest of us a bad rep.

LOL, yes I have a diesel. It is mandatory due to having horses. Gotta have the towing ability. Will it roll coal. Yes. Do I do it on purpose. No, for the most part. But tick me off and you will get a face full. It works better than a horn.

KrnAndy 06-20-2017 01:31 AM

I feel you op.. I'm always getting Altimas or Maximas trying to race me

I live in E. TX. The people here are a special brand of bad drivers, but I have not experienced crazy driving seemingly related to my Z. They drive the same way around my Tundra as my Z as far as I can tell. Maybe I am not observant enough.

Never had tailgaters driving the 350Z (grey with a very green spoiler).
Experienced some tailgating in the 370Z just during the first spring days. Now it is very quite and only every other day a Golf* tries to keep up.

*here it feels like every second car is a Golf so that might be the reason. Also why the percentage of morons driving a Golf is high.

Knock on wood, I don't get too much in Chicago. City dwellers don't seem to be car enthusiasts generally. Many of my friends ask me when I'm going to get an adult car. I'm 66, so I tell them I will when I grow up. Of course my winter car is an Avalon so I guess you can't get more adult than that.

Adults like us "never grow up"...that's part of our charm :)

They floor them standing still, they floor them driving through busy parking lots, they floor them through intersections, they floor then when they drive around you. That's all they do is floor the stupid things, leaving these huge clouds of black smoke everywhere.

What I do hate is that the few Z owners I see around here (350's and 370's), are either completely oblivious to other Z owners, or they seem to think they are better than you and have a stuck-up attitude.

In over a year of driving my Z, I have yet to have a single Z owner take the initiative to wave or anything at me.

Whatever...

Here in Albuquerque, New Mexico other Z drivers are very courteous. We always throw up a peace or wave! Many of us here are part of Zociety, not sure how big that's is in other states.

Here in Denver we've got our fair share of boy racers, and the Z does attract them fairly often... Probably 2-3 times a week I'll get 'challenged' on the way to/from work.

For the most part I just wave as they go by, or watch them tear off in a cloud of tire smoke at a light. I just don't have that much to prove I guess?

I will do the occasional 'cloverleaf-without-hitting-the-brakes' for a tailgater, but that's more for my own entertainment than anything else. I honestly think most folks judge the right speed for a corner by when the taillights come on in front of them; and if you don't do this you will more often than not be rewarded with shrieking high-mileage radials behind you. ;)

I have a favorite off-ramp that I catch a couple of down shifts. Never touch the brakes, and speed around WAY above the speed limit. I've heard on a number of times. The tires on the car behind me. :rofl2: The one night, I looked in the rear view mirrors. I seen headlights, taillights, headlights, taillights, headlights, taillights, then nothing. He spun it. :rofl2: Went back to see if he's ok. Yep, he's good, BUT pissed. A$$hole in a camaro trying to keep up with me. :rofl2:

About a week ago on one of our major highways here in upstate NY I had two mustangs, one on either side of me slow to match my speed then punch it a little then slow back down trying to entice me into a run. After about three tries they both accelerated hard and went off racing each other. Street racing is just not my thing, however I do like to take the Z on the back roads around my area and have some fun running it through the esses.
