Awesome GT car @GreyGwen. I picked my car up in OKC and drove it back to NYC, 1400 miles, 20 hrs straight. Stopped only for gas and food. Car was amazing and I instantly fell in love. Gas mileage was great as well, I averaged around 26 MPG. I was pleasantly shocked at how well the car drove during that trip.

Agreed @OP, I don't think I will get tired of this car for a long long time. Fun factor is definitely a major plus.

I rolled 32mpg with ethanol free 91 octane on a 400 mile trip. I was very impressed

I average about 25mpg with ethanol free 91. That stuff is the best.

We drove from just south of Pittsburgh to ZDayZ. Run around there. Then back home. Put on about 1,600 mile on this yrs trip. Last year on the way home from ZDayZ. We came home by the way of the Blue ridge Parkway. Loved every minute of it. :D Wife wants to take the Z out to Denver to see her family there. Think she wants to show off the Z. :rofl2: When traveling. We get about 25 mpg cruising at about 75 mph.

The 370Z is a great GT! 4500miles on it already after just 5 months.
I love it's suspension as it is not too harsh.

Last weekend we had our second road trip already. This time she took us to Germany.
With 100mph on cruise control she gets around 23mpg*.
My average is now at a bit below 23mpg*.
V/max was 150miles an hour. Still easy to handle but I didn't want to squeeze out the last bit as there were still other cars on the road.

Even in the passenger seat she feels very comfy while I let my waifu drive a little.

29mpg must be possible only at very low speeds. I managed once around 30mpg in the 350Z but cruising behind our convoy to the race track going only a few above 60mph.

Next trip to Belgium will follow... can't wait!

EDIT:
and yes, the 350Z with a smaller engine and less hp and manual transmission was definitely thirstier!

EDIT2:
*A/C on most of the distance

European model must be different than the US models. Cruise control on my Z maxes out at 90 mph :(

Seems so. I'd rather prefer to be able to roll down the windows with the key fob. ;)

Noticed that too...it's like my mom is riding shotgun.

Recently returned from a 2,150 mile ten day road trip - NJ to Nashville and back via Tail of the Dragon. Trunk had the space for ten days of luggage for me and the missus. And gifts for friends. And two bottles of whiskey from the Greenbrier distillery. The perfect GT!

is that the reason? I never lower my windows and I'm 18 mpg as well. I will try it and see what happens. Although i i think I'll enjoy getting my windows up more.

I just got my account, so I have two to relate:

1) I drove about 500 miles to my parents' over Memorial Day weekend for their 50th wedding annniversary bash. I thought ahead of using the Costco in Lexington to fuel up. I topped off at Barrett Parkway and headed out. Mileage from Costco pump to Costco pump was 357 and with the cruise set at 5mph over the speed limit (from a low of 60mph in Knox County to a high of 75mph) I clocked 29.14 mpg. I am very happy with that.

2) The first weekend of June I drove down to Augusta and back. On the way down Waze had me get off I-20 and on state road 441. This was my first run on two lane rural highways with the yellow dash system. My first drivers license was in WV, so I know all about the dash system. The 370z was sublime at this. Dropping to 3rd from 6th, passes were near instant and effortless (why yes I do have the 6MT). By the time I got moved to 278 then back to I-20, I had missed 45 minutes of stop and go misery due to construction and an accident and racked up 5 passes. Whee.

PS
I do love Waze.

Beats the heck out of me what my hwy mileage is but it shows 13.8 combined lol

Fuzzzy 06-06-2017 05:03 PM

Same here. I'm filling it up and driving it when I want to regardless of those numbers to one decimal place.

Sway 06-06-2017 06:15 PM

I didn't realize you were in Austin, that's super close to me. Do you drive a stick? If so I can convince you to do a tune pretty quick. :stirthepot:
