That's a totally sweet car. Interestingly, the other sports car I was cross-shopping against the Z was a new MX-5 Miata. I love that car - Definitely a pure driver's car in every sense of the word, despite what others may ignorantly think.
Post some pics of the Miata! Quote:

On order? Where do you live where you can't get one right away? Almost every Nissan dealer i've been to had 4 of them

What makes it even harder, if you put both cars right next to each other.
or maybe for you, it could make it easier. Pictures of both |
I'll take the Z over the G
|
Both are Good Cars, it's just a matter of personal needs
|
It would be the Z all the way for me, that's an easy one! As luxurious as the G may be, the Z is a drivers car.
|
Its tough, you've got a sports car with the transmission that should be in a luxury car, and you've got the luxury car with the transmission that should be in the sports car. I'd go with the G for the 6spd. you got the G because you wanted a 6pd sporty car, if you're always going to want the 6spd i'd stay with it.

Be a G and take the G
|
G = 2 Door Luxury Sedan
Z = Sports Car |

Z = GT NSX = Sports Car :D Ferrari 458 = ? |
And G37 = Gee I wish I had a 370Z

I know it's an old thread. But very interesting... I am from an 06 G35 coupe to an 09 370z. I actually still have the G. I consider the G as a performence luxury coupe and Z as a true sports car. It really depends on what you want. In my case, I want a true sports car. So I went to Z eventually.
As both G and Z driver, I can tell you this - people does give me thumb ups time by time while I am in the G. But when I am in the Z, people give me thumb ups ALL THE TIME even following me taking pix. Btw, my g35 was pimped out while my z is born stock. So consider this as a factor too!:P Like me, now the first mod I want to do is to tint my windows to get some private.:D |

Calling the G a luxury coupe is an overstatement. Calling it a dedicated sports car is also an overstatement. The G is a high performance premium coupe with luxury features. The G performance is underestimated often on this site. But the Z is better in all areas of performance except I think the G is more stable at high speeds. It inspires more confidence at over 120mph.
|
Sounds like the G is a better fit however I came out of a G37 and am very happy with the 370Z.. It is not my daily driver though and I do plan on tracking it..

the G and Z are two VERY DIFFERENT cars... i will say that as an owner of both.
and i am not a fan of the G37C styling... im waiting for the next gen G. :p |
you should trade both cars in for a hyundai elantra

Yeah, that's because the g35 has faster throttle response than the new gen thus feel more torquey. But I feel my 370z pulls harder at higher rpm then my g35c(unless I had my FI carbon fiber cbe on).
|
the G makes love to you, the Z effs you.
