That's exactly how I feel. There is no new car on the market I am interested including the Q60 coupe. Cars are going faster these days but I can't say that they are more fun to drive.

I was all over the Q60... untill I heard about the steering

I just got back from the annual Automobile Show in Birmingham, and there wasn't even a Z of ANY version to be seen. Just about every other manufacturer was there with just about every model . New Ford GT, new NSX, new F-type.......... Even FIAT had the new 124 on display.......no Z ......... Pretty sad .

Interior is just a yellow Nismo interior...looks cool. However, I hate stripes of any kind on any car so...:shakes head:

Humanity loves to try and show off...so they all want new. Even if it costs too much, is uglier and less reliable. They are also into gratuitous performance and power that 95% of them do not know how to handle and will never use. :shakes head: I know, I was one of them...you have to make the mistakes, then you can condescend and call them newbs ...:p

I've noticed a couple of things since reading most of the automotive "test drive" reviews of the 370z.

First? Reviewers very often explain that it's just "not a car they can see themselves buying", and make generic comments about it just not "wowing them" in some way. But ultimately, they conclude that it really is a great car, for the right person.

And second? There seems to be a lot of demand out there for HP numbers that meet or exceed the latest American "muscle cars", as well as luxury German cars, or else it's just "too slow" or a "dinosaur".

Personally? I Bought my '16 Nismo because I really liked the looks (not only exterior but interior too), the handling, and for the fact that it's not something you see every couple of blocks when driving around. That plus the fact it has enough horsepower to be "fast enough" for me. (Personally, I'm of the opinion that any car that has at least 300HP is a legitimate sports car. That's plenty to allow quick acceleration and not to leave you frustrated in driving situations, wishing it had more power.)

I also always felt that the best car I ever owned was my '97 Toyota Supra twin-turbo -- and so I've been looking for something in that same vein, ever since. No matter how fast they make a Mustang, a Charger, a Challenger, or a Camaro -- it's going to handle like the big American car that it is. That's not the feel I'm after (not to mention seeing way too many of them on the roads and not wanting to look just like everything else).

The fact that Nissan could keep selling the 370Z for this long, with so little changed, is a testament to the fact they designed a true classic with it. I rather like the idea that I bought a car that's been around this long, to get so many bugs worked out of it. (By contrast, I bought a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8GT when it was brand new, back around '09, and was eager to resell it after only a couple years. Spent thousands on visual and performance mods for it, only to be continually burned by "half baked" products that sounded great initially, but had issues that were likely because they were so new, for a brand new model of car.)

So yeah -- the 370Z is NOT for everyone, and that's part of the appeal to ME. It makes a lot of compromises but comes up with a blend that's up my alley.

I am certain the Heritage Edition will be popular with some Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fans.

How about a special edition turbo with the GTR engine! Throw some massive meats and sticky tires. Now THAT would be something that could pull in an extra 30-40k! Look what they did with the Camero ZL1. Fix the overheating issues and post a good Nuremberg time and you'd be golden.

I agree 100%. If you want to follow the herd, buy what everyone else is getting. You don't see many Nismos out there and I like the exclusivity. I use that explanation everytime someone ask me. I tell them, "...everyone drives a Stang, Camero, or Mopar, how many 370Z Nismos do you see between stop lights OR in a Week?". They just stand there nodding their heads in agreement! Everyone is into the HP "thing". Talked to a guy that owns a Hellcat who says he can't safely drive the thing on a rainy day or on cold tires! Where's the fun in that? Frankly I think he was overcompensating for the lack of something else! LoL.

Oh well, let the nay-sayers talk and nash their teeth in frustration. For now (and for a long time) I'll enjoy my 2015 Nismo....it's a head turner.

It just occurred to me that the yellow 280Z special edition came in '78. That was its last year of production and came 9 years after the first S30 launched. Maybe a Z35 for '19?

It is the speculation that there will be a concept near the end of the year.

So many contradictory reports on what they are going to do. I sure hope they give us a hint......and it better NOT be an SUV!

Personally I like yellow cars on some models. With that being said stripes and such only look good on American muscle cars. However, this edition is atrocious imho. The Z is a great looking car even stock. The 2018 Heritage Edition is just awful. I will laugh if I see one on the road!!!

Yep, this is what the BRZ and FRS are doing...they put out lame versions of the exact same car with decals and a slightly different body kit and try to sell it for more or gain followers....:shakes head:
