Automatic/manual seats in 370z?

I was on NissanUSA.com pricing out a 370z. I thought that all the 370z had manual seats because of the two knobs shown in the first picture.

Then I saw a YouTube vid where the 370z is reviewed and the person talked about the awkward seat controls being on the inside of the seat.

I am now confused. Are the seats on the touring model automatic? Or do those knobs serve a different purpose? Thanks for the help!

You are correct. Take a look at this image

As you can see, on Touring model, the driver seat is 8 way - 4 manual and 4 power. So, the moving front to back -lower and upper seat (as shown on YouTube) is power. But the other setting like bringing the seat height up or down is still manual. Hope this answers your question.

Also, any member with touring (I believe couple) model Z can chime in also.

Thanks for the quick reply, AK! I can't wait to test drive one. I've always wanted a Z. Perhaps the 370z is calling my name.

What you drive currently is pretty awesome too

Thanks, man! I'm liking this site so far. Hopefully the integrity stays up and doesn't become a crappy forum down the line. I hope KW will make coilovers for the car because I plan on putting her on Volks and KW V2 or V3 ASAP if I get her. :D

Thanks. The integrity WILL stay up. I could care less how one acts in other forums but once you're here , you can either become courteous to other fellow members or you'll lose your posting privilege. Sometimes people fail to realize that posting here is a privilege NOT right and it can be taken away any time depending on their behavior.

So, what makes you going from a 335i to 370Z?

wj4 01-08-2009 09:40 PM

I have about 31,000 miles on my 335i and I don't want to keep her past the 50,000 mark when warranty is up. I had an Evo prior to the 335i. I got rid of it because driving that car was not so fun in SoCal due to tedious cops. At the time, the 335i was the only car I can afford with similiar power and for the fact that it's a BMW, it won't draw much attention from the police.

I read the specs on paper and the 370z appear to be nearly identical to the 335i. I won't be racing the car on the street or on the tract, but once in a while, it feels good to WOT her when you're getting onto an onramp! :D

I guess the test drive will make or break the deal for me.

Kudos on you for keeping up the integrity. Despite of being 'not so cheap' cars, the BMW board I'm on is filled with ridiculous threads and 'kill' threads...so childish.

135i and 370Z were identical in performance. So it's basically other things that you have to look for.

Here a thread where you will find ALL 370Z review articles

Here's the article : http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...z-vs-135i.html . They annouced Z as the winner since it's new and fresh.

Good read, AK! I will start searching for a 370z in the summer since by then, I think most dealerships will have a bunch in stock. I already know what color combo and features I want.

What I'm looking forward to seeing again is the less expensive prices for maintenance. Although I've never paid anything for the car, (except the 2 oil changes inbetween the free oil change), I know they're quite expensive!

Are you referring to e90post?

And no, this forum will not go crap under the supervision of AK's team of moderators.;)

^Yes, Boba. I've seen you post under the SoCal section several times on the site as well. :)
