<-- New guy
I pop in a couple of times a day, and finally installed tapatalk on my phone to keep up with you all while some daily meeting drones on here at work. I'd say, based on my observation, that the traffic levels are fine... Any time I look at my phone there's a half dozen or more forum updates to examine. As mentioned, the Z has had the bugs worked out of it and the forums here are a treasure trove of trial and error, so anyone new (like myself) is probably spending most of their time reading threads from 3-5 years ago. And yes; as someone else who has never had, and never will have, a facebook account - that's just not a way of getting info that I'm jazzed about. So I sprung for the membership here. :) |

I'd say the fact that this thread has over 3 pages of replies in under 24 hours may suggest that the thread title is slightly inaccurate.
I've been on dead forums, so I recognise death when I see it. This forum's just relaxing a bit, from the frantic entity it used to be. |
Its just relaxing before the warm weather, a very active forum,
compared the Genesis Coupe (which is the DD) form I am also on.. |

Ive given the Genesis Track edition a look or 2
Any good for track abuse ? |
There's more traffic here than on the Ducati forum I'm a part of. The problem with forums like this one is that it's specific to the 370z, not Z cars in general. So when the current model get old (like it has), people lose interest. And when the Z35 eventually comes out, it will be even worse because enthusiasts will move on. I saw it back in 2012 when the 1199 Panigale replaced the 1198 Testastretta, and I expect to see it again here.

Wat u doing in a 350z forum

I think the reason this forum is relatively low-power is the incessant advertising. Click on "New Posts" and what I get, at least 50% of the time, is post after post after post of every mom and pop performance shop in the country hawking their spacers, turbos, FI, exhausts...etc etc etc. Wading through all the advertising posts just gets tiresome.

Maybe it seems like a dying breed, but only true enthusiasts will keep forums alive. I just can't take FB serious.. way too many dumb questions from lazy people who refuse to google and it's all just a cluster of questions/posts. Forums will be kept alive by true enthusiast and keep the kids with the 24" rims out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I agree with the many dumb questions posted in FB. Many are clueless so I wonder how they got their license to drive.
The forum is a great resource. Many just lurk, not participate but get a lot of info if they need to know how to fix things or find out what's going on with their Z. Doesn't mean it's dead. Many enjoy seeing what other members have done with their Zs. Some are quite competitive. It's a cool place. This place is alive since I keep meeting people from the forum and drink beer and eat burgers with them. I also make sure they get chopsticks on certain occasions. Bottom line for me is I get out what I put in. |

Not to mention last year I went to zdayz and met many more members. Made some great friends. Finally seeing people I've always chatted with here. This community is a legit enthusiast crowd. |
Opinions are like a--holes.
Everybody has one... Here is mine about forums. Having been a car guy for many decades,I've been active member of many forums. Forums evolve. As a long time Z owner,I have seen z33 forums go to crap. The top(it seems)z33 forum,MY350Z,went from guys doing major mods, full body kits etc. to the kids coming off Civics.Big topics were what color lights in your interior and LED conversion--everywhere. 350z Tech is dead. If it were not for ads from the LED guy,it would close down. I think this forum compared to others is quite active. For sure, slower at times due to the cold seasons. In addition, from a few years ago,z34 owners were not prone to do major mods on their cars. Now with earlier model 370's selling at affordable prices, the Civic GUYS(like what they did for the 350's)are upgrading to a z34. Bunch of for sale stuff. Not much in the way of tips on fixes from guys that know is what I see. Again, evolution. Looks alive&well to me. |
If anyone wants more traffic then go join a mustang forum or a dodge charger forum, and buy one of those cars while you’re at it. exclusivity rules! Oxymoron intended!

This forum has been fantastic for me. Really appreciate all the members who have shared really great information. I now have a wonderful FI exhaust, front spoiler, RJM clutch pedal and DRL's that work at night. All because of this forum...
:happydance: |
Redglare, 5 pages since your original post 2 days ago. Forum still dead? ;)

Now to find out who can let me detail my Z at their house before zdayz. |

I have a lifetime to my350z and I probably haven't been there twice since I joined here. Got tired of the doucherization of that forum. Also got tired of the most common phrase of "you need to drop it". |
I really enjoy the birthday parties in the break room! :rofl2:

I think this forum has become as much as an archive as it is a forum. there is so much information on this site, as others have said, im still catching up on 3-5 years worth of info just browsing through all the topics and posts. I may not post much but i would like to think im active on the forum. if a topic comes up im knowledgeable about ill share what i know but most likely the topic has already been covered and they just need to be redirected to the information.
Another thing is that i bet in another 3 to 4 years or when, and if, the Z35 comes out the depreciation in value of the Z34 will bring tons of new people to the forum since our cars will be super affordable at that point and new owners will have tons of questions just like we all did. it will be similar to whats happening to the Z33 right now. it may not be the crowd everyone is looking for but it will certainly bring activity to the forum either way. edit: As far as Facebook groups are concerned i would have to agree, they all kind of suck. the only reasonable group iv found is NorthEastVQ. they ask a lot of technical questions and reminds me a lot of the group from this forum. |

Due to the fact that I've seen 6 or 7 new owners/members joined today, this thread can be put to bed.
