Before I bought my 370, I had a 2015 TDI Passat, 6-speed manual, with every option you can get on a TDI in the US with a manual, and it routinely averaged 50+ MPG. My average drive to work was 52+ MPG typically. My record was 57 MPG out of the thing. Think the worst tank I ever got out of the car was 45 MPG.

Cars that get good gas mileage don't have to be small econo-boxes. It was fairly peppy even (not compared to a Z) for a large 4-door sedan that got good mileage.

Taken shortly after I bought the car, but the mileage did improve, it settled out around 52:

*Edit* (I looked it up, best was 57.3 MPG to be exact)

Okay I see. I ask because my girl drives a Prius and that's what we take on long drives.

Well the other poster may drive a Prius... I don't know. In ways I'll miss that car. It was a nice car, and going ~800 miles before needing to fill up was nice. However VW buying it back for more than I paid for it was a deal that I couldn't pass up.

Yeah, I bought it new for almost $7k under sticker, drove it for for a little over 24k miles, and then they bought it back for almost sticker price. It's a shame. I know they "lied" but there's no way those cars are polluting that much getting that kind of fuel economy. They are just polluting more than they advertised.

I keep my Z as my fun car and my daily is a Mazda SUV.

I drive my Z all year-round. Blizzaks in the winter.

Best and smartest thing you can do, if driving the Z
during the winter months.

I find it odd when I either encounter youtube videos or people questioning the practicality of driving the Z in snow. It's as if the concept of winter tires is an unknown factor. The videos tend to always have Z's in either summer or all-season tires sliding around with no chance of traction. Commentator's seem to always ignore what tires they're running and simply insist that the Z is a summer car not fit for winter driving. Drives me insane...

:iagree:

Winter tires go a long way. I think their real point is that a Blizzak equipped 370 still isn't a Wrangler by any stretch of the imagination. Deep snow is still going to get you, salt/calcium will still cause rust, and who wants to lose their pretty sports car because someone else who can't drive in snow slid into it? Mine stays parked in the winter. YMMV

I drive a 2017 WRX STI as my daily. No real "winter" in Texas haha Just random "winter" weather.

Side question for you guys though: For anyone that daily drives another manual car, do you guys feel uncomfortable switching between the two when you first start driving after driving the other? Whenever I switch between the Z and the STi, I have to drive a bit to start feeling comfortable again. Its especially noticeable when I drive my Z around then jump into the STi right after (or vice versa).
