Several things are to blame IMO. Z cars have a following so there is no need to advertise. The platform is great, but it is OLD. Also those of us in the market for a small two seat car is a very slim segment. Everyone wants a huge lumbering beast with a big screen in the dash and the WiFi.

Probably because the Z is not for everyone (less practical) and most of their sales come from Altimas, Maximas, and Crossovers, SUV's therefore they will spend money marketing the vehicles that they can get more sales. (I could be wrong about this, just what comes to mind)

I don't know of too many car companies that have their sports cars in commercials other than a few. I don't think I've never seen an EVO, S2000, Ford ST, and similar cars in commercials, but I did see a 370z on a recent commercial that is not related to car sales but a movie. Sleeples trailer you can see for a second a 370z, so that's the best we'll get for now.

Maxima's are in very very few...only when they do the lineup for incentives and it's not in all of them. Altimas, Rogues and Sentras are their bread and butter, Z's, Maximas, Pathfinders etc sell in much much less volume than those. Without those 3 Nissan would have gone belly up or be in serious financial prob's!:icon14:

Not sure about the z exactly but I imagine sales market is the number one reason (not a huge market for 2 door, 2 seat coupe). As to the poster comment on GT-R not having commercials it was actually done that way on purpose. There is a GT-R documentary and the project lead specifically stated that if they need to make a commercial for it to get recognition then it is a failure.

In addition to the previous post, who in their bright mind would advertise an increadibly impractical 8-yr old idea (it's actually 9 maybe 10)?

As has been stated there's no need to advertise performance cars because people who want them will seek them out. When's the last time you saw an ad for a 911?

Oh, and Nissan doesn't give a $h*t about us. There's that too.:roflpuke2:

Sportscars in general are going the way of the dodo; the market has spoken, and it has 2.5 kids and a dog and wants 4-doors, 4 wheel drive, and 40mpg.

That and petrol-heads don't really need to be marketed to. We tend to be highly informed, super passionate about our preferred brand (actually, religious is a better term), and few of us have a TV in the garage anyway. :)

Guess its better off this way. I know around my area (Maryland) I do a double take every time I see a newer Z since its so infrequent, then it seems 75% of those are 350's. Camaro's, Mustangs, 911's, Vettes out the behind, I do like to be in a minority, for instance I'm sure the above are all great cars but wouldn't buy a new Camaro or Mustang simply because there are so many running around.

The Nissan 370Z Is a Classic-Car Bargain Masquerading as a Current Production Model

Here is an interesting take.... mentioned here it's in a unique segment. It will be discontinued one day and people will be like **** this is a car with very unique aspects. NA6 banger with 2 seats and having a drive full of character

This article has a lot of truth in it... we are so hot for a new Z but if it comes out auto-only with electric steering and hybrid power the enthusiast modder crowd will shed a small tear.

The don't even make a Brochure for 2017 370Z. Have to download and print. $50K car in Canada, and can't get a $1, professional brochure.

Oh well, can't drive the Brochure. LOL

I got my 2017 brochure when I came to the dealer but to be honest when you know you're getting it you don't really care that much anymore.
