While it's not really necessary for 3-6 months of storage - as others have said, any flat spots will quickly disappear once the tires warm up a little bit (unless you have very soft tires) - there is nothing wrong with putting stands at the appropriate places on the suspension. Not worth the effort unless you plan on inspecting the bottom while the car is in storage (not a bad idea).
As per POS VETT, topping off the tank and using a float charger are more important. Disconnecting the battery cable will clear the on-the-fly tuning params and the car will probably run a little rough for a few minutes while it re-learns. Plus, batteries like to be fully charged for greatest longevity.
