IF you have it in writing you are golden. If not, well, I hope for the best.

I hope they don't pull a bumper off another Z on the lot. I think there is a vin# attached to each bumper iirc. At least tell them to swap the vins.

Do not settle for anything less than what you paid for. I would really want them to do better than this. The BBB I think needs to be called and this dealership should be reported. We are talking about a car that will depreciate in value as soon as it left the parking lot, you don't need an extra hole to deal with.

Just for the record, the BBB does jack crap about stuff like this. The BBB is a joke dude and I work at a dealer so ask me how I know...

Hello guys..

So.. I bought my 2017 370z (Brand new) about 2 months ago in October, and the part of the deal included Nissan OEM Rear view mirror /w homelink and back up camera.

One day later I pick up the car, I find out that the mirror installed doesn't have any visible homelink buttons. So I email my sales guy and asks how I can program this mirror for homelink.

Two days later.. the sales guy replies and tells me that he installed the aftermarket one on my car and that the mirror does not have any homelink capability. ( This was done without my consent )

So I ask him to get me the OEM one and make this deal right, and he says i will have to wait 1 month for the part to arrive.

Fast forwarding 1 month and 2 weeks, i go to the dealership to replace it with the OEM one. The tech who actually worked on my car did a great job and installed the new one.

Now, the problem is the OEM camera has been installed in different location from the aftermarket one and my bumber has a huge hole now...

Of course I had no idea this would happen. So i tell my sales guy to come out and take a look at the hole, then he says how the bumper is plastic and will not rust over time. Of course i do not want this hole on a 2 month old car, and asks him to give me a new bumper. He says he's lost so much money on this deal ( sure but it wasn't my fault to begin with? ), and not willing to do so, and see what he can do on monday as it was already late on Saturday afternoon.

What would you guys demand from this sales guy?

Is a brand new bumper reasonable request from me or should I let him fix this hole? Will the paint crack or get easily damaged after the repair?
I did some readings on fixing the bumper holes (mostly due to getting rid of license plate) and i noticed that the putty used to fill a hole pop out over time sometimes.
What should I do?

Wow. That's just not right! I don't understand what's up with dealers sometimes. They act like they did you a favour by selling you the car and you should settle for what you got. I would've gone ballistic if it was my car. That's why my car has yet to see a dealer for any servicing. I realize that I may eventually need to go to one if something crops up that is warranty related but besides that, I will be handling all maintenance items.

Back to your issue, I would not settle for anything less than a perfect car. Period. Even if the hole is not apparent unless you look underneath, I know it's there and it would drive me nuts, especially on a new car. If the dealer does not make it right (going to GM or Owner), I would contact Nissan directly. I once got excellent service after a call like that.

Like others have stated, I would expect a factory painted bumper and not a repaint. Let them take it off another new pearl white 370z. That's not your problem.

It depends upon personalities, where you service your car etc. I am not combative and it would not bother me so I would not pursue it. If I made a scene and got what I want, I might not feel good about taking my car for service there in the future. They could do a ton of damage.

If I intend to use the dealer and his services, why make it a huge deal?

Good for you. I'm glad the dealership finally stepped up.

I had my bumper switched with another brand new PW 370z. I don't know what happens to the other car (since the bumper now has two holes). i sincerely hope that this dealership doesn't screw over other innocent guy
