Above is the email address for the lead attorney who I have been speaking with on this and providing my story/evidence to. I encourage you all to reach out to her as well, she seems knowledgeable and like she wants to help us out.

Looks like things are still moving along. 1/25 the judge denied Nissan's claim to dismiss the case. The plaintiff updated the complaint and there's a new hearing on 4/13 to allow Nissan to dispute the updated claim. I hate how long these things take...

Of course she does; she stands to make more off this than anyone else :icon17:

We will probably see the new Z35 before the class action suit is settled.

THIS IS A KICK IN THE ***** FOR NISSAN OWNERS IN GENERAL. AN ISSUE SUCH AS THIS STILL OCCURRING FOR THIS LENGTH OF TIME AND NISSAN STILL TRYING TO DISMISS IT. :shakes head:

what be cool if nissan reimbursed every failed CSC owner - even those who replaced with aftermarket solution.

I'd say 2-3k per owner is a fair settlement.

How to delete this post, is there a way

Delete what, the Slave Cylinder? If so there are tons of threads on that.

Thatringokid 02-10-2017 06:09 AM

My CSC just went out two days ago. Of course only the CSC is covered by extended warranty, I have to pay for master that you also have to replace when doing the job.
Sigh $400 in deductable, parts, labor later...
How do I get in on this?

Hilla_killa 06-10-2017 02:26 PM

wonder what progress is being made on this case. I want that new exedy clutch kit like in the heritage model 370

Cletus370Z 06-10-2017 03:16 PM

Just had my CSC removed and a CMAK put in place of that garbage. Any updates on this case?

It will be no different the other clutches that have been OEM in the Z. The Exedy will be made to Nissian specs. They just happen to be the low bidder for this go around.

^^^ True, same crappy csc... mines acting up, gonna have to replace it soon.

Have you tried flushing it out with new fluid? Might get a little more life out of it.

UNKNOWN_370 06-11-2017 10:03 PM

This lawsuit is probably why they don't wanna make another Z? Losers!!!

I have an RJM pedal assembly which is supposed to help increase the life too, I wanted to install that this weekend but didn't have time... hopefully next weekend, and I'll flush the system at the same time now, thanks for the info!

Louie cat 06-12-2017 08:24 AM

I wonder if the previous owner changed the one in mine, a 2010 nismo with 52k miles. No issues yet in the 11k miles I have driven it.

What are the earliest tell tale signs of an imminent failure?

hustleman222 06-13-2017 11:14 AM

The moment your clutch doesn't pop back up after pushing it in. If you have to lift if back up with your foot, park it or find a shop immediately. I drove mine broke for about 2 days and lucky I made it home...but had to have a tow truck to bring it to Nissan.

DeliriousClam 06-13-2017 07:51 PM

They successfully put together a class action lawsuit for the Corvette Z06 overheating on the track but we can't get one together for a poorly designed component that breaks under normal use and is not cheap to fix? The ****?

Not really anything unfortunately, it basically works fine right up until it completely fails. You may get lucky and notice a soft pedal feel, but for me at least it worked fine until I kicked it in to shift to fifth and it stayed down, I pulled it out and pushed it in and managed to get into neutral (I honestly think it was a clutchless shift thinking back) as I came to a stop and that was all she wrote. It basically works up until the break and all of your fluid dumps out giving you no pressure at all, lousy design.

ramoszx12r 06-14-2017 05:40 AM

What i am doing is eliminating the heat on the clutch fluid, by raping the exhaust.
Also i change the fluid before it get brown or black with hi temp fluid. I think that
is the biggest problem with it, the fluid gets cook and the CSC fails.

I wrapped my clutch line with insulation, and flushed my fluid.
