+1 repped for that lol

vipor 12-08-2009 01:26 PM

I've had a lot of cars over my 11 years of driving, here's a list:

1996 Pontiac Grand Am - Burgundy - Coupe - shared with mom, step dad's. he let it get repo'd
1990 Chevy Blazer - Black - 2 Door 2WD - bought from step dad, he bought it back, same price
1989 Toyota Corolla - Red - 4 Door - dad's car, I drove. clutch went out and was vandalized at the school auto shop
1978 Olds Cutlass Supreme - Creme (Vanilla Pudding) - Brougham - sold to a friend
1987 Honda Accord LXi - Light Blue - 2 Door Hatch - shared with step mom, motor locked up on her later
1989 Honda Accord LXi - Champagne - 4 Door - cut off, hit the guy. damaged the tranny, lost all but 1st gear. motor blew. sold as-is for 400$
1992 Nissan 240SX SE - Black - Coupe - had a HUD speedo omg. traded in.
1997 Nissan 240SX SE - Cobalt Green Pearl - Coupe (of course) - wrecked, cut off. sat on it for a while, sold to friend, we fixed it. he still drives it to this day.
1971 Chevy C10 - Ugly - LWB Custom Deluxe - 2 new motors and 3 new trannies. still needs work. parked at a friend's, still.
1995 Dodge Spirit - Burgundy - 4 Door 2.5L N/A - new tranny, replaced the head myself when the therm. locked up and it blew. sold to a junkyard after i got my Z for 100$ lol.
2009 Nissan 370Z - Pearl White - Nismo - effin win! :driving: :happydance:

I think that's all of them, lol.

The 240's were definitely where I fell in love with Nissans. Also, my mom had a Red 86 Z31 and later my brother had a Burgundy 86, both awesome cars.

j.arnaldo 12-08-2009 01:51 PM

'61 Ford Falcon. A slow poke, but reliable. I never DREAMED I'd end up owning a Z!!! Very reliable '04.5 Touring Coupe! Cheers!

phelan 12-08-2009 02:25 PM

We never dreamed you'd have a 2004.5 Tou- oh wait. :p

ANYWAY:
97 Range Rover -> 2003 Audi -> 1991 240SX (sorta...never quite finished building it, but sold it for payments on...) -> 2009 370Z

Going small is good for the environment. Right, RIGHT?!!?! :D :rofl2:

LETSGOEERS06 12-10-2009 03:26 PM

Lol - I've got a '99 Jeep Cheroke Larado 4.0L straigt six (I think I've got a thing for the straight six... ) for my winter beater - with a turbo muffler! Whoot whoot ;)

gumpy 12-11-2009 01:00 AM

Mine was a 06 VW Polo GTI, not sure if the US gets this car.

It had a lovely 20 valve 4 cylinder 1.8L turbo engine from the audi's. I miss the low down torque the small turbo's gave, as well as the rediculous level of fuel efficiency and the ease of parking the thing... =)

My first Z was a 74 260 back in 84, I paid $2000, I also hated the Original Carbs! tossed those out and used the 71 carbs, and in 86, I found my 70.

A camouflaged Roadster-bodied prototype has been spotted on the test track and two experimental models of the 16X rotary engine are being tested at the moment. The 16X rotary engine is of particular interest, it’s said to produce around 270ps and be 20% more economical on fuel thanks to direct injection and rapid combustion technology. Capacity is increased over the 13B coming in at 800cc x2 and will remain naturally aspirated. HA are quick to add that the 16X will certainly change the perception of the rotary engine as a gas guzzler to one that can produce high power and be light on fuel. Power will be transmitted through a world-first manually adjustable twin-clutch SMG. A dial on the center console will allow the driver to select various modes and while in “Auto” it will engage with precisely the right amount of pressure according to normal driving RPMs. If the RPM exceeds the amount designated for that particular mode, the clutch will automatically increase pressure to compensate. In “Sports” mode greater pressure is applied in the same way but without the reduced drivability that comes with a heavier clutch.
The 2012 RX-9’s chassis is said to be a totally new design and will focus on maximum weight saving which will also dictate the use of resin and aluminum panels for the body. Weight is expected to be around 1200kg and only slightly heavier than the current model Roadster. HA say that according to their source, out of all the designs for the new RX-9 that have appeared in various magazines the one pictured below is closest to what the RX-9 should look like.
0 to 60 should be 4.5 or lower.

Well when i was 16 my parents and I went looking for cars I wanted a sports car... they thought I would kill myself in my moms z28 so I got a jeep and fell in love with them... after my eclipse and the wranglers I miss a Manual so much and where I live its unpractical to get a rwd car unless you have a 4x4 for the ICE/SNOW up and down these mountains.

Montez 12-11-2009 08:24 PM

Had nothing but the Nissan family, love them.

Past: 87 Max SE (mom had 83 280zx, brother 86 Max SE both got me hooked), 89 Max SE (stolen), 91 300 Zx, 95 Max SE (totalled), 97 Maxima SE, 03 350Z (Lemon lemon traded for 03 Max SE)

Current: 09 370Z base with sports pkg
03 Max SE
05 G35s Sport (wifes)

Mine was an S15...still one of my dream cars

pgkam_820 12-12-2009 07:43 AM

mine was 300ZX turbo 1984, reason being I managed clocked 145 mph on the speedometer before I bought it because I never thought that car can hit top speed. This was back in 1990, From then on I have collected Z cars, six of them... sold one bought another one. So far I have driven three 280ZX two-seaters and one 300ZX 2+2 turbo, one 300ZX 2+2 normal aspirated engine and 300ZX turbo two-seaters. Now, 2009, I just bought 370Z pearl white 6MT, always fall in love everytime I drive the Z......
