Default Brand new 370z Twin Turbo Life Longivity???

I saved money for a brand new 2017 370z NISMO TECH red I will probably be buying it through the winter.

I plan on Twin Turbo charging it. My research shows that a complete turbo kit will cost around $20,000. Is this correct and what exactly does this budget include?

Also, the main question is, how long can I expect the engine to last while daily driving it? I am planning on driving it around 450 whp.

Thanks guys!

Which turbo kit you plan on getting? When you say complete kit do you also mean with gauges, new clutch, etc.?

I'm no turbo expert but it all depends how good of a tune, how you drive it, etc., maybe the 370Z owners with twin turbo on their cars can chime in....

That would prolly cover the kit and all supporting mods ... if you are installing yourself .... more if a shop does it

Something I strongly implore you to do is to set aside at a minimum 5-8k for "Boosted people problems." Other than that I'd say you'll be making 500+ rwhp on any of the most popular kits ( F.I, AAM , Greddy**if you could find one**) Just choose your parts wisely, upgrade your clutch early enough to have it broken in by time of the install and don't go nuts with boost after you experience boost.

This was the ball park estimate I got from Kevin @ Fast Intentions. That included the kit, better clutch, oil cooler, exhaust & differential bushing replacement, tune and them doing the whole thing. You need to call them now to schedule and get prices 'cause it's about an 8 week lead time....

I am currently in the 'budgeting' part of my TT kit, I was hoping for a early March 2017 delivery to FI for the upgrade, but it looks like it's gonna slide a bit. I am shooting for a ballpark HP number of 475, because I intend to drive it frequently. The other thing to possibly consider is wider tires on the back... gotta be able to put the ponies on the ground....

It is hard to say. I think Phunk has 60k on his car with a TT kit. You will do good to get 100k out of the engine if you have a good tune and don't beat the car to death. You must be ready for things to go terribly wrong though. Your biggest expense will be rear tires.

Have you though about the Stillen supercharger...you can have it installed for almost half and they offer 3 year 36 mile warranty. about 500hp...

If you consider the Stillen SC definitely go with TopgunZ's air to air upgrade. Not only more HP but safer HP to boot. The kit as it comes is not 500 HP and if you had it tuned near that as it comes not safe for your motor at all.

honestly dat'z a waste of money imho. ure spending 40k+ on a nearly 9yr old technology car and adding another 20K to it?
why not just get a c7 or something.

Ken got the right idea. For the $ spent, buy a better car. You will get reliability and coverage for a few years. That coverage in itself is worth a lot! People who say, "save a few $K for in case of the engine pops" or "have a 2nd car" ought to hint you on how less reliable the car can be once heavily modified.

I like my car a lot, but if someone were to right out hand me 45k for her, she would be gone. I would come home with a new Maro, ok ok lies. That car is nice and she would be paid off at $45k with options on a SS but I would probably down a good chunk on a C7 and make small payments monthly.

Sure the Z can turn heads. But, IMO, and I'm probably a snob or just to use to my car but if it's not a Nismo and just a lightly modified Z, it's nothing special (even if it had nice wheels. Sorry guys.. There are so many better and nicer cars now a days).

yep, even a new camaro ss would do circles around a 370z... in stock form.

Thinkin about it I'd be ripe for a C7 if I had the choice and was ready to drop 20k plus whatever I had saved down for the Z. That would put you financing roughly +/- 30k. I could eat that all day standing on my head. But I do understand seeing as I paid 34k OTD for my 15' Nismo then spent north of 15k on all the associated turbo go fast stuff. (Make that 18k now.)
