Oh yeah, no bad views on our perfect, no wrong doing, non corrupt UNITED STATES POLICE departments. Turn your autos on or get daytime running lights dude....

Jayhovah 08-09-2016 02:28 PM

When I totaled my 2011, the cop gave me a reckless driving ticket. It was raining, I wasn't speeding, and was just chilling on cruise control (I have since learned that cruise+rain is a bad combo). I hit a big puddle and lost control. I think I was profiled because of the car and given that ticket. That being said, my car was plastidipped and looked like this:

To play devil's advocate here... why did you even switch your lights off auto mode? I don't think I've touched mine since I bought the car new.

Like others mentioned, it annoys me. It turns the headlights on every time I go into my garage.

This is OT - and perhaps foolish to ask... but as a member of the FI brotherhood I figure I'll take a go at it. I recently installed some Antilaser "parking sensors" and I'd like to find a safe way to test our their functionality... As a LEO, do you have any ideas? I noticed you are also a central floridian too...

I was a motorman for 8 years and I ran laser every day all day. I can tell you from experience that laser jammers work. That being said if you wanted to check out your range and effectiveness and had time to make it to O-town one day while I'm working I'd be more than happy to show you. The systems I've run into in the past would jam a Pro3 out to about 400ft before lock, which is plenty of space because I can typically lock up at around 1700-1900ft on a normal day and out to 2300ft on an uncommon low humidity clear day. It's educational on both ends.

Agreed! You got yourself a PM =)

JohnTrang 08-10-2016 09:52 PM

Yes, I got a ticket for 84 on a highway when soccer moms go 90 all day long.

:icon14: Is that what he actually wrote on the ticket? If that's the case there's definitely shenannigans. Just for instance , here in Florida the limit is not absolute. By law the maximum penalty for up to 6mph over the posted limit is a verbal warning. The workaround for people who "earn" a ticket is to cite for violation of a traffic control device. In either case it has to be articulated that the officer is certified to operate the device. The device has been calibrated and tested before and after the shift and the device is only used to support a visual estimate of the observed vehicles speed. Don't know the specs of this stop but to be cited for 1 over ...............yeah chat about that one at the bench.

No visible mods, never been pulled over in the Z, 60+K miles. Best one was after hanging a turn, saw a cop going the opposite direction. He didn't even look over. Thanks quiet exhaust! The next best one, cops walked by while the car was parked on the driveway (neighbor across the fence called in for a little domestic disturbance next door). One of the cops said, "that car looks so fast I feel like I need to give you a speeding ticket". He smiled and walked on.

Rapists are smart enough to obey traffic laws very carefully when they have someone chained to the floorboard.

kenchan 08-16-2016 09:41 PM

ChaseZ 08-21-2016 12:22 AM

Never, but was asked if my windows were tinted once when I wasn't even in the car. Said its factory and went on my way.

I'm truly surprised the Mustang isn't in that top ten list..

I met up solidus in Orlando yesterday while he was working (law enforcement) to test out my AL Priority laser jammers.. Really cool guy. Even let me play with the LIDAR gun. It's so easy to use it's a little scary. Made a couple of passes, but he was only able to get a speed reading on me after the ALP stopped jamming.

Shout out and thanks to solidus! Next time I'll reconfigure the jammer to jam for more time so we can get a better idea of what range I am effective to.

DeliriousClam 08-21-2016 07:51 AM

The only time it attracted cops was when they took pictures of it in the parking lot of Wawa. Otherwise it only attracts other car guys and girls that you want nothing to do with

Glad to meet you. 504ft is where I finally got it to lock up I think thats an awesome rate given the current configuration. All you need now is the rear. We did the K40 later and it jammed to 400ft again. I think its the amount of warning time that makes the difference since his was set at 10sec. On the upside we now know for sure that both the ALP and the K40 can effectively defeat a tier 1 device and aren't bs and hype. Enthusiat tested under real conditions. ( And I dont even have one of these....yet.)

markesc 08-21-2016 12:20 PM

My WRX = pulled over once every three months.

This car = no hassles, and I don't have morons trying to race me all the time. Don't miss the wrx at all!

NISMO IX 08-21-2016 02:42 PM

I have not been pulled over for anything foolish like the above stories, however, I have had what I call "police escorts". Drive down the main street of any town around here after 11pm where there is a police officer just sitting somewhere off the side, almost every time I am guaranteed to have it on my *** right after I pass, then continued to be followed for a while. I have been told that they are probably just making sure my car is not stolen, but I feel if my car was not MagBlack, it may happen less frequent. Sounds like I am being profiled.... lmao:icon14:

mishuko 08-21-2016 06:09 PM

I haven't been harassed but I hear of 350s and muffler delete kids getting rekt left right and centre on the vq north group lol.... had cops follow me. Probably running my plates lol oops
