Help me get <3,000lbs
Would love to shed some of the winter fat off the car. What kind of parts could I look at removing and/or replacing with lighter weight alternatives.
My Motordyne ART + Shockwave is already much less than the stock cars and exhaust, so I think that's a good start. Lighter rims should probably be in the list. What else? |

The easiest way ... get an FRS. Lol. Good luck with the 3,000 lb mark. U need a 2009 model 6speed base model. No sport package, no radio, no ac, one seat and all trunk bits out. No floor mats.. New rotors n all that. You're looking at removing 250lbs... you can get maybe 60 lbs off the engine with titanium exhaust n downpipes plus and silicone tubing. The rest is stripping the car itself.

I have base model with titanium exhaust art pipes and advangt wheels short air intakes I'm at 3100+
Next big thing would be replacing hatch glass with lexan that would be another -40lb I was looking in to carbon fiber hood and hatch but could not fined any weight #'s on them. |

Guess I shouldn't have added that 1lb TK shift knob after all lol

Any particular reason why you want to get down to 3k lbs? Is this going to become a dedicated track car at some point?
|
lose your tires...that's at least 50 lbs each right there!

I'm sure it varies by style and manufacturer but it sounds like a CF hood only saves a couple lbs over stock a grand or more for a2 or 3 lbs isn't a very good return. The real savings would be a full dry CF hood jbateD of Fiberglas wrapped in CF but now you're into pretty big bucks. CF benefit may be in ease of opening it up and modifying with some venting to let the hot air escape. A partial cowl induction would work wonders on this car. |

I'd like to see 400whp NA and 3k lbs. I think that would be a great place for this car to be. |
