Default Difference between part numbers

Just was curious if anyone knew of any differences between the different part numbers pertaining to the fuel pump assembly. Just recently had to order one as mine broke from its top hat and noticed there were several different part numbers preceding the one i just ordered

Most of the time it means they upgraded the part due to issues. Other times they changed venders so it get's a new part number.

So there's a good chance the new fuel pumps don't suffer as badly when it comes to fuel starvation?
