UPDATE!

So the car as of right now is in the shop still getting fixed / done, total estimate was about $1600 (not including suspension work, just body) and today I went down to the station to get a copy of my police report found out that the two Hispanic lied to the police, under Misc section of the report it said "Vehicle 1 (the party at fault) was "trying to pull down the left hand turn signal but instead pulled down the gear shifter, than accidentally backed into Vehicle 2 (me)". I honestly think it's ******** because the red light was still "RED" when they backed into me so obviously they pulled down the gear shifter to R trying to get out of the turn lane unless they were trying to run the red turn light by taking their feet off the brake and slammed on the gas pedal....it doesn't make sense how the cop didn't realize that, sure they can accidentally pull the shifter but the car won't move unless they take the foot off the brake and slammed on the gas. WHICH at the time the light was still red. doesn't make sense.

it doesnt really matter who lies. you think the police can know 100% without being there? plus, they dont care. a report gets filed, and your insurance company decides who is at fault, not the police.

police only care if there was INTENT involved, and then it would be on a crime report instead of a traffic report. dont worry

Real shame about this. To be fair, if the driver *thought* the van was in drive as a result of *thinking* that they turned on their signal, but actually engaged reverse gear on the column, then all they would have to do is release their foot from the gas pedal *thinking* they were moving forward with the traffic and here we are. So it is plausible. BUT, that said, it's still operator error and they would still be at fault. And it would be a stupid thing to do. And what were they doing w/o a license anyway. And it sucks cuz it's a beautiful z. But whatever ethnicity or anything else, couldve just been a bad day for them too. Just being real at no expense to the compensation you are permitted to...
