Need your honest opinion guys!

Alright , so I'm driving on a 2011 Beautiful Roadster with Touring and sport package! I find the bubble butt too ugly in my opinion. I like the Amuse Wing spoiler , It's a pretty big one , yet I'm talking about their smallest one for the Z.
I just need some of your opinions if I should go for it or not. The only thing that stop me at the moment is the Re-sale of the car later, there are like 5 Roadsters in my country , and some people might not like it. not to mention I'll have to drill 8 holes on its back! :ugh:
Help ?

Zbrah 06-23-2016 12:32 AM

It appears you already answered your own question brotha.

370zRoadster 06-23-2016 12:46 AM

I suppose you are right...:ugh:

370zRoadster 06-23-2016 12:56 AM

Thanks to @Hot_Octane , I got these some pics of how the spoiler will fit on the Roadster.
of course I wont have the whole Amuse body kit , but just a start I guess :ugh2:

trick question?

or even a question?

old guy 06-23-2016 07:16 AM

I'm a big fan of spoilers ( see my thread " no rear spoiler " ) that said all 4 of my nissans have had spoilers, I honestly think your Z will look better. My 06 Maxima has A small low profile one, that most people won't even notice, but it still looks better.
INMHO you don't want it to be the main focus on the rear, go subtle, paint matched, and it will compliment your ride!

marty31 06-23-2016 07:19 AM

I think it will look like an abortion.

SouthArk370Z 06-23-2016 07:35 AM

That spoiler is a bit large for my style but I do like the design. If you like it, go for it - what we think doesn't really matter.

As for resale, with mods you seldom get back what you put in but I can't see that wing (very tasty, even if not something I would install) decreasing the value of the car (assuming it's installed properly). If it were one of those huge wings on meter tall, perforated towers, you might take a hit, but not with that one. To me it says, "I have some class" - some wings say "I trash the hell out of my car."

This. It'll be awful and make baby Jesus cry. Especially if you just have the wing and not the rest of the kit. That being said, none of us are making your payment. If it floats your boat, go for it.

OldGuyFla 06-23-2016 08:59 AM

A spoiler will make it look better I believe. Most of the people that put spoilers on the roadster put the one that looks like the OEM on the coup. I really like mine & it makes the rear end look so much better. I know what you are saying about drilling the hole in the trunk lid. It took me about two hours after I knew where they were going to actually pick up the drill & do it.

The coupe-style spoiler on the roadster looks fantastic. That's the way to go for sure.

Aside from the planned spoiler what else is going on the car? It is better if it flows with the rest of the exterior mods. It would be incomplete all by itself.

I agree. Unless you are doing a full kit, Amuse spoiler will look out of place. But it's you car.

Duc_Z09 06-23-2016 12:00 PM

My honest opinion? Very few cars can pull off looking good both as a roadster and a hardtop. The Z isn't one of them. You'll probably be improving it.

That doesn't look stable at all. At least from the image, it looks like it's attached only to the bumper, on the sides for the license plate opening. Unless it's connected to the car frame some how, this really doesn't make much sense.

Slartibartfas 06-24-2016 11:39 AM

The wing is bolted to curved brackets passing through slots in the bumper cover. I presume the brackets are bolted to the rear bumper structure.

Hotrodz 06-24-2016 11:47 AM

He ended up re-enforcing the braces and I believe he is no longer going to use the wing because the wing itself was fracturing under the pressure of all the down force. Tommy has a build thread. Lots of good info on that particular wing.

Thanks, that brings things into perspective.

Explain how my question wasn't valid? I don't know who the guy is who added that wing, nor do I know how it was installed, therefore I questioned it. Without knowing it was reinforced, there's no sense in that installation other than for show.

At least the above users provided insight on the install.

Lol, ok, you clearly have no understanding of what I'm asking. Next time, don't give off an elitist attitude, or I'll call you out on it again.

So you admit your elitist, arrogant attitude? Glad we got that cleared up. Or is that common knowledge?

And given how you still couldn't answer a basic question, I guess I'd attribute that to your bad reading comprehension.

that makes sense

That's your idiotic interpretation.

There are those who mount wings directly to bumpers without the necessary support, just for show, not for function. Hence, I questioned its use for Track, not knowing where this image came from. Try again.

:eekdance:

Nismodean 06-27-2016 02:36 PM

Yea i don't like cars with a fat a55 either, I prefer those skinny anorexic a55es that dip in when they walk....:wtf2::gtfo2:

Beautiful but ugly....I don't even think you know what you're trying to say haha.

Back in my late Highschool, early college days when poor ricers would do just about anything to their cars, with absolutely no regard for function. And some really did fabricate exterior brackets for their wing (among other things), from Home Depot or whatever the hardware store was back then, and mounting directly to their bumper.

Some were old enough cars where they had those really strong bumpers, but I recall seeing a 97 Celica, with a kit, and a fabricated wing bolted on that kit's bumper.

Such oddities were not uncommon where I was. So yes, they do that sort of thing.

Duc_Z09 06-27-2016 07:15 PM

Is this $h*t still going on? Who the hell cares? Mods, please end this. We're all dumber for having read it.
