DDMotorsports Going Out of Business

This truly is hard for me to write, but DoubleDownMotorsports.com is officially going out of business. I started Double Down Motorsports back in 2007 as a time attack race team. In December of 2008, after losing my commercial real estate job to the economy I decided to try and make a living out of my passion for cars so I opened the online retail store at DoubleDownMotorsports.com. I have put everything I had into this new venture in an attempt to sustain it long enough to grow into an income producing company. Unfortunately things just did not pan out and a recent sudden turn of events has made it to where I cannot afford to keep it open any longer. It has been a dream of mine to own my own company within the automotive aftermarket industry and this past year has been truly exciting. Thank you to all of my customers who made my efforts worth while.

I will continue to use my 370Z to test parts for companies and continue to build it as a daily driven trackable car as well. Really nothing much is going to change other than the fact that I will eventually not be selling new parts as a business. I still plan to keep my involvement with the 370Z community the same as it always has been.

As for my racing, the 2010 season is un-certain at this point until I find my next job, but one sure thing is that I will continue to do everything in my power to find a way to make it back out to the track. My true passion in life is racing cars and I will be out at next years events whether it be competing in my 370Z, driving someone else’s car, or even just as a spectator. My new race team website is BonanniMotorsports.com. Whatever ends up developing over the off season for myself and my racing will be announced on that site.

At this time I will no longer be taking any new orders for anything that I do not have here with me in my standing inventory. For the items I do have in my inventory, I am offering incredible prices in an effort to clear off my shelves and re-coup some of the money I have invested.

For those with standing orders with me, you will be getting emails today with specifics pertaining to your order, but I will remain in business long enough to see your orders through so no worries. I wouldn't leave anyone hanging :).3

sorry to hear man, love your car. you're definitely an enthusiast, not just a parts shop.

Caravanshaka 11-17-2009 12:25 PM

:( Damn Mike...VERY sorry to hear this. You've been great to me through all the forgestar crap that went on, and your business practices have been very much appreciated on my end. I wish you the best in your racing development, and hope that you can find a suitable job to support you and your family.

AK370Z 11-17-2009 12:25 PM

wow.. Mike! I'm VERY sad to hear this. :( . You are a very helpful person and helped plenty of members with their questions. I want to wish you good luck with everything. I hope you'll still sign on here from time to time and help our members with your knowledge.

Modshack 11-17-2009 12:28 PM

Sorry to hear Mike. I feel your pain. This past year has been tough for everyone in the same position, me included.....Best of luck, and thanks for your support..

I don't see Mike leaving us...he's got a passion for this

Just sad to see a customer service focused business not able to survive this economy...it's people like him that are hard to come by now as it is.

M.Bonanni 11-17-2009 12:31 PM

Thanks again everyone.

I will definitely be just as active on the forums as before. The only real difference is that I won't be posting for sale threads :). The build of my car will continue, although probably at a slower pace. I will still test parts (have a bunch waiting to go on the car already), and I will continue to answer any questions anyone wants to ask.

Very sorry to hear this Mike, I know you put a lot into this Venture. But you're young and will bounce back in no time, hopefully someday we will cross paths on the race track. I for one will still be closely following your progress with the 370Z and Time Attack series.

Ryan@IP 11-17-2009 12:41 PM

Best of luck in the future. Your product reviews and experiences have always been a great asset to this site.

SOLISIMO 11-17-2009 12:42 PM

Thanks again everyone. It is definitely uplifting to see all of the nice comments from past customers, forum members, and other vendors!

Mike, I wish you and Tony from Fast Intentions could team up and buy out Forgestar Wheels. Between you two guys you could corner the market on performance wheels for driving enthusiast, with some of the best customer service around. Not to mention what other custom products you guys could dream/fab up. Anyway thanks for answering all the tire questions and providing expeirence based input!!!:tiphat:
